THE BLUE THING IS BACK!

one of two pieces i did for a splatoon oc zine i'm hosting between friends! makomart is one of my favorite stages in splatoon, and was what inspired me to make ocs in the first place... so consider this piece a tribute to it...!

also... everyone say hi to shades in the back... shades belongs to yen (@/nikkoyen)! (in some ways this illustration can be considered the start point of minatoast and sydney's stories...)

at the top of tartarus (from september 2022)

this is my magnum opus in art, i think. probably my favorite piece ever, so i'm really happy to be reuploading this one today. the final boss fight in persona 3 is my favorite of all-time so i dedicated my heart into making this illustration... it's all about the culmination of the games themes all leading to this moment and also the music is a banger. god. im so normal about this game. and i would also be a very happy person if i could draw like this again LMAOO

reunion 🌸 (swipe for full!)

happy march 5th! it's my third year drawing for this day... some thoughts about p3 that came up while working on the piece below! (spoiler warning...)

i decided to take a ryominaigis lens with this piece to try and highlight some aspects about minato's character that i like (mostly in regards to his choice to sacrifice himself and how ryoji/death has been a pivotal part of his life). i had a lot of fun working on this and i think my art has progressed nicely in the past three years :D !!! yipee!!!

wind's requiem

did this illustration at the start of the month on stream (lizz_archives on twitch!). i was watching a lot of wind waker in september and felt compelled to draw the most iconic song that link conducts... i just think the pose and silhouette is super nice!!! i had a lot of fun drawing this... wind waker's stylistic sensibilities have a big overlap with how i naturally like to draw so it was super inspiring T_T !!! i love link...

cheers to future tabling endeavors!!! <3 (and if you have time next week, say hi to the folks at the kapolei library for mini con 2, electric boogaloo on october 3rd!)

shrimps on a trip! 🍊🫐 ( #artfight2026 attack for @nikkoyen )

long time no post!!! i've been posting old artfight attacks onto tumblr and bluesky and wanted to share my favorite one on instagram 🥺

this piece was a lot of fun for me to do and i look back at it super fondly... artfight is always a fun event to participate in! there's something about the gameification and point system that really inspires me to do big ambitious ideas.

in this case, my self-imposed challenge was to draw as much of yen and i's splatoon ocs as possible! it was really fun to balance character count with a coherent composition that encapsulates everyones' personality and relationship dynamics :)

i hope you all enjoy looking at this as much as i did making it! <3 i sincerely can't express enough how much i loved making this, it really reminded me of what i love most about the art process (color and atmosphere)!

also... if you haven't seen from my stories, yen and i will be tabling together at minicon at the McCully-Mōʻiliʻili Public Library this coming saturday (september 26th)!! come stop by! 🧡💙

reference sheet of my #SplatoonOC, blast! 💙🔥 this guy thinks he's hot shit but he can't aim to save his life. i love him and i hope nothing bad happens to him ever!!! 😀

i've been running the splatoon weapons gijinka zine, AKA @sheldonspickszine and the mods and i thought it'd be fun to do gijinkas of the starting weapons for each class as a fun artfight bonus! so i chose to make the blaster gijinka inspired by the interest check results LOLOLOL. it was a lot of fun to design him and i hope you like him as much as i do 💙

eerie apparitions in the night (bolderoll slope) 🔥

this was last week's stream drawing...! it was a lot of fun playing with the shapes on this (lasso, polyline, and ellipse tool i know you got me!) <3

i miss playing pokemon legends arceus... last time i was in the crimson mirelands getting immersed in the wonderful fields of pachirisu... hopefully i can return to it soon, it's such a fun game!

color keys inspired by the #xenoblade title screen! congratulations on 16 years and the nintendo switch 2 edition 💙

shoutout to me completely forgetting that the world of xenoblade chronicles is flat until i started doing color adjustments at the end. im sorry bionis and mechonis i forgot your epic and swag worldbuilding in pursuit of playing around with pretty colors and the changing direction of light... 💔

xenoblade was very influential to me growing up so i wanted to pay tribute to it... i remember spending so much time sitting on the title screen and watching it go through the different times of day, so it felt fitting to do some color keys of it. thank you xenoblade for being a part of my life 🥺

my illustration for press play partner: a souyo mixtape zine! thank you so much for having me on board, it was fun to draw #souyo to one of my favorite songs! 🧡

Momocon 2026🥇 - Moonlight!

i drew this a little over a week ago and forgot to post it here! i've wanted to draw fanart of moonlight for awhile... i've really enjoyed seeing the different eras of their team comps in the past two years or so! 🥺 there's something very special to me about a group of friends playing at top level who earnestly enjoy each other's company... it feels very evident in how they carry themselves methinks... and that makes me very eager to tune into future tournament runs regardless of the result. ANYWAYS. shoutout to moonlight for making this weekend a fun one! i <3 watching competitive splatoon!!!
