BRANDY!!!!! 😍

I'm still here, yo! Cause I've been waiting on this since I was 10, for 27 YEARS y'all. 😭

Again, I was all nervous like I haven't met my fave so many times before. Haha! 😂 She said "I remember you girl". Then she said "I like yo coat", in her playful Brandy tone. Made my entire world, Brandy told me she liked my coat, like WOW! Then my nerves calmed all the way down. 🥰

You already KNOW how much I have loved me some Brandy, been rocking with her since her debut in 94'. Bran has been the soundtrack to my childhood, my life & my big sister in my head! lol 🤭 Definitely felt like 10 y/o me again! lol But I will always feel so blessed for getting the chance to be in her presence. Brandy meant so much more to little me than I could ever put into words. I felt a connection seeing someone who looked like me, growing up with her music, watching her from Moesha to Cinderella to all that she has done! Never in a million years did I ever think I would meet my idol. Dreams do come true! 💕

Again, I will never forget when I was 10 & my daddy gave me the Never Say Never & The Boy Is Mine cassettes along with my first Sony Walkman back in 98'. I played the hell out of them tapes front to back, back to front & every other way! I'm so, so happy & grateful I got to have another moment, THIS moment with thee Brandy.

First of all, it's MONICA!!!!! 😍

Can't believe this was a week ago & YES, it took me a whole week to get myself together after a show that I been waiting on since I was TEN YEARS OLD for 27 YEARS to happen! 😭

The way I was so nervous, as if I hadn't met or talked to my fave a bunch of times before. Haha! 😂 The first thing she said to me "Oooh I love your shirt." Then my nerves went completely away.

If you know me, you KNOW how much I have loved Mo since her debut in 95'. Monica has been the soundtrack to my childhood, my life & my big sister in my head! lol 🤭 But for real, getting the chance to actually be in her presence will always have me feeling grateful & like I'm 10 again. Haha! 😂 As a kid, I dreamed of meeting her, thinking it wouldn't ever happen. But Monica meant more than just her music to little me. The connection I felt with her voice, style & personality back then is still with me.

Life been life-ing WAY too much again & I done forgot to pat myself on the back for my 5 year work anniversary back in April along with getting accepted into the Television Academy back in June. 🙌🏾

Although I'm FINALLY getting back to it & following my childhood dreams & making the pivot back to the music side of things!!! 🎵🎶 & hopefully that'll happen soon.🤞🏾

Working in TV has been fun & a great learning experience. It's been cool being on the studio casting team for projects like The Burbs, The Five Star Weekend, Ted (TV Series), Chucky (TV series) plus many more AND now I'm officially a Television Academy (aka Emmy's) member!

Next step is to move over into music & become a Recording Academy member! 😉

Very thankful for ALL of you who've sent prayers & well wishes my way for my momma. 🫶🏽

Its been close to 2 weeks since my momma had her surgery. A lumpectomy procedure & it went well. She is doing alright, recovering & very happy that this part of the breast cancer journey is over.

She did get a little bad news during this recovery, the surgery didn't fully get the whole tumor out. 😔 So she now has to have a 2nd surgery.

Also, still waiting to see what the treatment options will be after her full recovery. But in light of that, the good news is that the cancer didn't spread outside of the initial area, GREAT news actually. 🥹 Checkout the shirts her doctor's office gave us, guess I'll be wearing it to this next surgery...🎀

Continued prayers are welcomed, thank you...🙏🏾

I'm back at the 5K Northside Trap Run (& Walk) this year! 🏃🏾‍♀️ Happening tomorrow from 9am-Noon in The Ville at Dr. Martin Luther King Dr & Sarah Ave!

I'm so happy to be back this year & for the 8th edition since I wasn't able to make it back to STL last year.

I grew up in the neighborhood, a block over right on Cote Brilliante Ave & Sarah & I'm excited to see the new location, aka my stomping grounds. It makes me so happy to see the @traprunstl happening & getting bigger each year.

I missed Grief Awareness Day on 8/30.

But every day is grief awareness day for any & everyone who's grieving. 💛

August hit me hard this year. It's just a hard month for me & will forever be, but I made it through the month. Transitioning slowly into September, a new month as this grief journey continues. 🫶🏽💐

My Aaliyah love goes deep, she BEEN my fave! I had my girl pictures hanging on my bedroom door back in the day. These pictures were taken in 02 (& ignore my lil bro in that 2nd one. lol), I was like 14 here still in middle school. 🥰

I actually had my whole room decked out with pictures & posters from magazines, newspapers, etc! But I never deliberately thought to take pictures of it back then. So when I find these gems in our photo collection, it brings me so much joy.

I drew a picture of Aaliyah for an art class project in middle school, (peep it in the first photo on the right) & this reminds me I need to find that drawing too!

25 Years & it still feels like it happened today. 💔
