I don’t have a perfect definition of what Crew Chief is yet. Crew Chief started as an idea I couldn’t stop thinking about, and I dove in head first. Every new idea felt urgent. Every opportunity felt like something to say yes to. There was content to create, events to plan, merch to design, partnerships to build, and a million other things I wanted to bring to life immediately. In just two months, Crew Chief became an LLC. We hosted our first pop up, supported a women’s 100-mile relay, an outrigger race, and a tennis tournament, supported a Girlfriends Club retreat and participated in their September step challenge, sent 50 hats and hundreds of stickers out into the world, and landed brand partnerships that contributed to our events. Crew Chief has reconnected me with Sacramento State Women’s Rowing and opened conversations with the Alumni Association about fundraising, partnerships, and bringing new energy to the rowing alumni community. It has given us opportunities to show up for athletes, friends, family, and people we probably never would have met otherwise. Somewhere in all of that excitement, I started measuring progress by how quickly I could turn the next idea into something real. I became so focused on what was next that I wasn’t giving enough attention to everything that was already happening. Crew Chief is about support and community, neither of which deserves to be rushed! There is still SO much I want to do, but I’m realizing it does not all need to happen RIGHT NOW. The pace can ebb and flow while we continue building something meaningful. So, two months in, I’m reminding myself that there is no prize for doing it all the fastest. We’re just getting started, slowly, intentionally, and at a pace that actually lets us enjoy it. And to everyone who has shown up, followed along, worn a hat, grabbed a sticker, shared an idea, partnered with us, or found some way to be part of these first two months, thank you. It means a lot to have you here! We have a community 5k, a November pop up, a Sac State Women’s Rowing alumni meet up, and plenty more on the horizon. See you soon🧚🏼 by @crewchief444

Yesterday, Crew Chief supported a group of women as they covered 100 miles together! 💖🧚🏼 From a 3am wake-up call to the last runners crossing the finish at 10pm, it was a long day with some tough conditions, including 87-degree heat and full-sun stretches of the route. Crew Chief was far from the only support out there. These women (+ some loved ones) showed up for each other all day with food, hydration, high energy, love, compassion and endless encouragement. Every runner brought a different pace to the course, and no one ever blinked an eye at what that number was. They met each other where they were, kept showing up and kept moving forward. Yesterday showed us how much is possible when you decide to make something happen and surround yourself with people who believe in the vision. To our runners…thank you for trusting us. the two questions we got the most yesterday were… why are we doing this? well, we’d probably be spending our sunday morning together anyway 🤭 we love being outside, we love taking care of people, and this feels like a pretty great way to do both. we also know that getting up and moving your body isn’t always easy, and we don’t think you need a bib on your chest or a finish line ahead of you to deserve a little extra support along the way. who are we? we are your support crew 🧚🏼 next time you see us, come say hi💫 #supportisasport #crewchief by @crewchief444

There are thousands of people moving along the American River Bike Trail every weekend. People training for something big, people getting back into it, people riding with friends, walking with family, chasing a PR, or moving simply because being outside feels good. On September 6th, we’ll be setting up somewhere along the trail with the kind of energy usually reserved for race day. There’s no course we want you to follow and no specific distance we want you to cover. We just want you to get outside, move your body however feels good that day, and maybe find us waiting for you somewhere along the way. We’ll tease exactly where as we get closer.
