When shooting digital, it’s often a nonsense filming framing charts the way we do with film cameras. It’s a waste of time when prep is already a race against the clock, and a DIY approach of what should be a precise reference for post, lab and VFX.
With Crewmate, you can generate pixel-precise framing charts in seconds (even on set if you need to shoot an action shot with a 10% margin at last minute) and send them as lightweight PNGs to your lab. If you shoot on ARRI, you can even export the XML framelines to load into your cameras (we support both V1 and V2 models), ensuring a precise and consistent frame reference through the entire workflow. We’ve been discussing with people from Netflix and Technicolor when designing this feature, and they’ve been using it internally for their projects. You can trust our maths! by @crewmate.fr
