I had the chance to beta read Compulsion to Kill, and this one seriously got under my skin! 🖤

From the start, the dark and unsettling atmosphere pulled me in, and the twists kept me guessing until the very end. I loved never quite knowing what was coming next.

I’m also extra excited to support my fellow Bookstagrammer and friend, Darcia @darciahelle

If you love dark, twisted crime thrillers that keep you turning the pages, definitely check this one out.

Compulsion to Kill is available now on Kindle Unlimited! 📖🔪 by @criminallyconcise

📚𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗜 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗛📚
I saw @jensreadingroom call it ‘Meh May’ and I have to agree. I only managed to post one review so here are my one sentence thoughts on the books I read but didn’t review
.
🕵🏻‍♂️🕵🏻‍♀️A Drink Before The War: a decent start to an old series but think I will ignore the ones that don’t interest me

🎡🤡Wonderland: there are clowns, binge read and did I say there are clowns?

🦘🇦🇺In The Deep: White doesn’t disappoint, go in blind and enjoy

🚘🚙Red On The Run: Was just ok for me

🧑🏻‍💻📰 Bad City: I knew this one would make me angry and it did

👩🏻 Jane Doe: a great #buddyread discussion with @darciahelle and @tammyroos

🪓 😳Misery: Great plot, but it dragged on a little too long for my liking

📚Death of a Bookseller: meh

🤷🏻‍♀️Pretty Little Wife: it was okay

Since almost everyone has read this one … police procedural and interesting serial killer made for an enjoyable read. I would be very interested to read the prequel to this one
🧩
Thanks to @ohcay.reads for holding on to this one since @thrillersbythebookclub.sd holiday swap

My love for Long, Bright River by @lizmoorebooks knows no bounds so when I saw HEFT at @bookoffusainc I grabbed it without reading the synopsis or reviews 🙌🏼

The characters, the writing, the story … I just couldn’t put this one down. Looking forward to reading more Moore 📚

🙈 𝗦𝗛𝗔𝗠𝗘𝗙𝗨𝗟 𝗦𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪𝗦 🙊
Racing to catch up on reviews before the calendar turns to May and I fall further behind

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿: dark academia and podcasts and secrets but was just okay for me

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲: couldn’t put it down while reading this one but definitely had to suspend belief

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗼 𝗞𝗶𝗹𝗹: solid 4th installment and I just love the small town setting and people

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗱: crazy book, writing is kind of childish but the twists and turns are not

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗱'𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁: didn’t like this one as much as ⬆️

𝗔 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗹 & 𝗕𝗮𝘆 𝗢𝗳 𝗘𝘃𝗶𝗹: another series that takes place in a small town with interesting cases and people but 🥶

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝘂𝗰𝗸𝘆 𝗢𝗻𝗲: a buddy read with @tammyroos and @darciahelle that made for a lonely chat where one of us liked the book more than the other two

𝗢𝘂𝘁: completely different from the typical thriller that explores unintended consequences. I think this would have made for a wonderful novella bc I felt it dragged in parts

I grabbed this because I wanted to see what the fuss was about. I can see why people loved it 30 years ago, but it was just ok for me. I admit my eyes glazed over with all the science talk about procedures, DNA etc that just isn’t found in crime thrillers now
.
There are 2️⃣7️⃣ books in this series and I just can’t do it. That being said, at some point I may grab one of the newer installments

Well I was not expecting that twist and I was more than ok with it. As always, @jenniferhillierbooks gave me a page turning book I flew through 🙌🏼
.
Extra love for the places in Seattle I know … the Pink Door (IYKYK), the original Starbucks, Pike Place Market and Puyallup which I actually know how to pronounce
.
Special thanks to @babygotbooks4life for following my @goodreads and finding this one from my ‘want to read’ shelf 💙🙌🏼

📖 𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗞𝗖𝗟𝗨𝗕 𝗣𝗜𝗖𝗞 📖

This one has mixed reviews and I can see why. I haven’t been to a #bookclub meetup since November but I’m not missing this one because as usual I have thoughts 💭 and won’t be holding back 😂

Leave it to @johnmarrs.author to put us in the mind of such a f*cked up character and take the reader on a twisty rollercoaster ride
