Been in luv with skiing this year ❤️‍🔥

1. Probably the coolest thing ive done in the history of ever. In the original audio i gasp because im so suprised i landed it. This place is called “The Rock”, (because theres a big rock). No im not telling you where it is.
2. Ive been afraid of rails basically up until this year, and i finally just chilled out about it and learned how to relax on them which i think is key to improving. Learning how to relax when i ski has been huge for me overall.
3. Been one of my fav grabs this year.
4. Tree skiing at home! Steamboat’s the best

Directors cut of a short film called 6 Iz Enuff we made for the UBC Ski and Board Film Festival, took home first place and peoples choice! Was super fun to put this together. Girls rock 🫶.

Officially the best photo in my camera roll. First thing after knee surgery was to make dad do a photoshoot with me. After spending the last 6 months on and off crutches, music is what saved me. Without skiing, surfing, dancing, and all the movement I’ve spent almost every day loving, DJing is what keeps my heart open. It makes me feel alive like all the things Ive had to give up do. It allows me to dance with the mosh without getting decked and deleting my progress. All the things. The set in Tofino changed my life. I am at a loss for words for how much people support me. It doesn’t feel real. Thank you for having an open heart with me. Thank you music for saving me. I posted my set from Tofino, which is also my debut mix: Music Saved Me. Its on SoundCloud (Katie Samaratyn), in my bio. I will be doing a personal show in November to celebrate my love, stay tuned. by @crispysoupp

Wow this edit makes me so happy! @orianne_griffin_ hiked an entire ice covered mountain, came home to me throwing a dance party in her living room and said “Yes Katie, of course i’ll make you an edit” and grabbed her camera. What a bad bitch and kind soul!

This Boogie Bash in particular holds a special place in my heart because the only reason I threw one more was because my set at Catacombs fell apart and didnt happen (my USB didnt load any of my music). And all I remember is how many people came all the way to that club to see me play. At that point I didn’t care about playing, I just wanted to hug and thank everyone for coming and tell them I’d make it up to them. So one more Boogie Bash it was! One of the best sets ive ever played. Skill = experience + love , and love was at an all time high.

Thank you to all the gorgeous people I met and will continue knowing. Truly special to get to keep DJing across the world from my home. Makes it all worth it bringing my decks on the airplane. Such a task.

I will be recording my set funny enough on the airplane home and posting it for everyone’s ears to enjoy. Definitely more Boogie Bashes on the way. Boogie Bash World Tour!!!!! Put that on a shirt.

Spent Jan in Kauai with Mia. We’ve been best friends for 10 years! Always one joke ahead of each other. Here is what I’ve learned from our time:

1. Never use your real name in a workout class
2. Dancing is the absolute top priority
3. Always be aware of your surroundings while snorkeling or risk being in a physical altercation with another diver
4. There are killas and they are in the jungle
6. Sometimes the $10 smoothie is gonna be flavored blended ice and thats just the way life goes
7. If you’re gonna park bad prepare to reap the consequences
8. Sand management skills
9. Mia’s mom and Milo (the handsome dog in the middle) have the same birthday
10. Dinner is most enjoyed with all the dishes shared
