If you’re good at what you do but your money still feels tight... this one’s for you. 👇

I built and sold a business — three locations, 25 employees — and my husband and I still ended up living paycheck to paycheck.

We knew how to hire. How to sell. How to run the whole thing. That was never our problem.

At one point, we remortgaged our home just to stay competitive. Not to survive — to compete. And that’s when it finally hit me:

It was never a skill problem. It was a model problem. 🙌

Revenue looked great from the outside. But the capital demands never stopped — the money always went out long before it came back. That treadmill takes out good people every day. People more talented than me.

So when we rebuilt, we chose differently. No buildout. No inventory. No payroll before revenue. Nobody asking me to put my home on the line to grow.

Now I help driven professionals own their work instead of renting it. 💛

If you’re self-employed and tired of building someone else’s definition of success, tap “Sign Up” and answer two quick questions. No pitch, no pressure — just an honest conversation.

Some people recharge by staying home. I apparently need a passport, a plane, and a body of water. 😂🌴

Add the family, adventure, and absolutely no idea what day of the week it is… and my battery is back at 100%. ☀️

Anyone else have a serious case of the travel bug? ✈️

A little reminder that some of the biggest growth in life happens when we choose courage over comfort.

I’ve had plenty of moments where I didn’t feel ready, didn’t have all the answers, and wondered if I was capable.

But I’ve learned that you don’t have to be fearless to move forward. You just have to be willing.

Whatever that scary next step looks like for you, take it. ❤️

Do it scared.

Your kid’s birthday is on the calendar, and your schedule still isn’t yours to decide. 💛

Clocking in at 9 and out at 5 means your time belongs to someone else before you ever get to your own family.

Asking for a day off, waiting on an approval, hoping the school play doesn’t land on a busy Thursday. 😮‍💨

My husband and I learned that owning a business doesn’t automatically give you your calendar back. We had three young kids, inconsistent income, and credit card debt to bridge the gap when we launched our brick and mortar business.

What I wish we’d had sooner: a way to build income around family life, instead of fitting life around a job.

Here’s a simple schedule-control stack I wish I’d gotten into way before our first child:

✅ Block three 90-minute selling windows each week, such as Tuesday to Thursday, 9:00 to 10:30am. This is income-producing time, so protect it no matter what.

✅ Each night, write down who you follow up with tomorrow.

✅ Within 24 hours of every conversation, send a follow-up. This is where your gold is.

✅ Protect family Friday afternoons with no calls and no laptop.

It’s a simple hack, but it’s hard to commit to day in and day out. Business pulls you in every direction, but these are really the only income-producing activities you should focus on to get your business off the ground. Everything else you work it around family schedule.

Trying to figure this out alone means guessing which habits actually free up your time. 🙌

What I’m building is a business you own, with a mentor and proven systems behind it. It fits around your life. 💛

If you want to decide your own week, comment CALENDAR and let’s see if you can qualify to partner with us.

Coming home, I thought we’d hit the ground running. Instead, it’s been one thing after another—back-to-back sickness with the kids, and a pretty brutal flu for me. 😭

I’m just so thankful for my hubby @matt_fredeluces He has massive projects on his plate right now, yet served us so incredibly well—providing, taking care of the kids, cooking, picking up the household, and keeping everything moving when I don’t have the strength. ❤️ Thank you babe!!!

And my mother-in-law stepping in to cook for us too. 🥹 It really does take a village, and I’m so grateful for mine when all of my strength is wiped.

We’re all slowly gaining our strength one by one. I just thank Jesus for my hubby and my mama in law ✝️ by @crissilia

Maybe the biggest lie women were sold was that life had to be “either/or.”

Career or motherhood. Ambition or presence. Building wealth or making memories.

But what if the goal isn’t choosing between them? What if the goal is building a life big enough for AND?

I want to build the business AND raise my babies. Take the trips AND build the future. Be present AND pursue what God put on my heart.

I’m not choosing one life over another. I’m building a life that makes room for AND. 🤍

11 of the top 20 most profitable companies in Hawaii are finance and insurance. 55%. 📊

Yes, I found it in a physical magazine. I’m aware of what that says about me. 😄 That number isn’t a coincidence. That’s a tide.

Most people choose a career by asking what they’re good at. It sounds wise and deep but something I wouldn’t advise my kids or the people I love.

Skill gets you further in a rising industry than brilliance does in a sinking one. 🙌 A capable operator in a shrinking sector spends every ounce of skill just staying level. An average performer in a growing one gets carried by demand they never had to create.

And believe me, we’ve seen the most average business people find wild success and the smartest ones struggle with their business constantly.

I learned it the expensive way… commercial leases, 25 employees, three locations, and a model that kept asking for capital before it ever gave any back. 💔

THE RISING TIDE AUDIT - run this on any industry before you commit:

1️⃣ Follow the profit, not the passion. Pull your region’s “top companies by profitability” list and count how many sit in the same sector. Three or more is a tide. One is a fluke.

2️⃣ Check the 20-year demographic bet. Is this industry serving a group that’s growing or shrinking? Aging population, wealth transfer, new regulation, AI takeover. Money follows demographics, always.

3️⃣ Price the entry. Add up licensing, buildout, inventory, and payroll before your first dollar comes in. If you need capital to compete, competition will decide your ceiling, not skill.

Bonus: run it on the industry you’re already in, not just the one you’re considering.

So tell me 👇 what industry are you in, and after those three questions: sinking boat, or sailing into the sunset? 🌅

If you’re good at what you do, the sector you point that skill at matters more than another year of getting better at it.

Comment TIDE and I’ll send you the full breakdown with the Hawaii numbers already pulled. 💛 #808business #smallbusinessowner by @crissilia

Thinking about buying your next business? Read this before you jump in. 🙌

I’ve been a business owner for 14 years. I’ve signed the commercial lease with a personal guarantee. I’ve made payroll for 25 people. I’ve built businesses and sold them.

I’ve also made some very expensive mistakes. Learn from mine instead of paying for your own.

Here’s the one that almost happened again.

I had franchise paperwork in front of me. New city, and brick and mortar was what I’m good at, so my instinct was simple: buy another business, sign the lease, grind and build it out.

Then I ran the numbers. Lease, build-out, inventory, payroll. Twelve months of it before I paid myself.

I’d already lived that season. I’m tired of that.

Here’s the thing with the traditional business or franchise model… buying one usually means buying yourself a harder job with more liability. The asset only exists IF you can get it to run without you. And that’s HARD.

So before I committed to anything, I ran this filter 👇

1️⃣ Overhead Before Revenue - add lease + build-out + inventory + payroll for 12 months, divide by 12. That’s what you must earn every month before you consider paying yourself a dollar.

2️⃣ Ask: “If I can’t work for 1 week, is it relatively easy to find my replacement?”

3️⃣ Demand the calendar, not the story: “How many hours per week will YOU personally be on the phone with me in my first 90 days?” Vague answer = you’re on your own.

4️⃣ Run the books with someone experienced in buying and selling businesses. You need a pair of eyes that isn’t emotionally attached to forecast your chances.

5️⃣ Check the ceiling: industry net profit averages, and what owner’s compensation typically looks like.

After months of number crunching, I found a business with no lease, no payroll, no build-out, and a mentor on the phone with me weekly. That’s the whole difference. 💛

If you’re ambitious and know there’s something bigger for you and you’re actively searching right now, comment ASSET ✨

“I don’t help people find better investments. I help them design smarter dollars.”

I say that and people ask me what it means. 🧐

The sexiest topic in finance is always on the return side... Which fund, which account, what the market did this week.

But before you get on that side of the equation, you gotta work on the structure side. This is where most of the money leaks happen.

A dollar you earn gets taxed. What’s left gets spent or saved. What you save may get taxed again later. Somewhere in there you’re also paying for protection you may not fully understand, on a policy you haven’t looked at since you signed it.

That’s not a returns problem. That’s a design problem. 🙌

A smarter dollar is one that does more than one job. It grows. It’s protected. It’s accessible when life happens. And it isn’t quietly handing a chunk of itself away every year for no reason.

You don’t need more money to start. You need to see where your current dollars are going first.

That’s what a financial review actually is. Not a pitch. A picture.

Comment REVIEW or send me a message and I’ll walk you through what yours looks like. 🌺

Bali + Korea photo dump 🌴🇮🇩🇰🇷✈️

One month, a hundred memories. Some highlights from our trip:

🤍 Seeing family again especially my growing nephews and nieces
💍 Watching my brother get married + gaining a whole new family
🌎 Family from FIVE countries coming together in Bali
🌴 Beaches, beach clubs, rice fields, amazing food, Bali’s EPIC wellness centers, reconnecting with Bali friends
🥹 Walking down memory lane with hubby
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Watching our kids experience a completely different way of life
🇰🇷 Squeezing an entire Seoul adventure into ONE day 😂

My favorite part was watching the world through our kids’ eyes. Especially now that they’re older and can articulate much more.

Traveling with 3 children is exhausting, chaotic, expensive, requires a ridiculous amount of planning and snacks 😂 but it’s also one of the things I’ll happily spend money on.

Money can’t buy everything. But it CAN buy plane tickets that bring all 5 of us across the world to hug family. It can give our kids experiences no textbook could fully teach them… different cultures, languages, foods, ways of living, and a bigger view of the world ❤️

And after such an epic month, what surprised me when we landed back was.. I was SO ready for ordinary life again.

Our home, beds, school drop offs, work days, familiar stores, routine. All the mundane things I barely noticed before felt like little gifts.

Maybe that’s one of the beautiful things about traveling.

Sometimes you need to leave your normal life for a while to realize how much there is to love about home. ❤️

So grateful for the adventure & grateful we can give our kids these experiences. Extra grateful for family across the world.

And now… grateful for routine. Praise God, all glory to Him ✝️

Until the next adventure ✈️🌎❤️

Women avoid their finances like they avoid the bench press 😅💪🏼

But ladies… we need to get stronger at BOTH. 😂💰

Whether you’re married, single, building a career, running a business, or raising a family, you should understand what’s happening with your money.

You don’t need to become a financial expert overnight. But you SHOULD know these 3 things:

1️⃣ Know your numbers.
What’s coming in? What’s going out? What do you owe? What do you own? How much are you actually saving and investing?

2️⃣ Know where your future money is coming from.
Retirement accounts, investments, pensions, Social Security, insurance… what are you building today that Future You will eventually live on? 👵🏼💰

3️⃣ Know how to access everything.
If you’re married, don’t let your spouse be the ONLY person who knows where the accounts are, how to access them, what insurance you have, who the beneficiaries are, or where the important documents live.

Being involved in your finances isn’t about distrusting your spouse.

It’s about being an active partner in building your family’s future. ❤️

And if you’re single? Even more reason to own this.

Financial confidence is a muscle. You don’t build it overnight. You build it by getting involved, asking questions, learning, and making one stronger decision at a time. 💪🏼💰

Now excuse me while I work on BOTH. 😂🏋🏻‍♀️

What if your life could look completely different 3 years from now? 👀

Maybe money doesn’t buy happiness… but it can buy choices, time, and experiences with the people you love. ❤️🌴

Don’t underestimate what a few years of intentional choices can change. ✨
