bit of a different style than i’m used to doing but this was so fun to make. i wanted to stray away from more realistic pieces for a bit and work on something more conceptual. by @crissysartprocess

reminiscence
24 in x 20 in
oil on canvas

this painting depicts two girls walking down a trail, both holding flowers. the girl to the left of the frame holds forget-me-nots and the girl on the right right holds zinnias. these flowers symbolize a deep friendship and bonding between the two. the tunnel in the distance is one of the darker areas in the painting and represents the unknown future looming in the distance but regardless, the girls stride with confidence. surrounding the tunnel are three stars that make the unknown seem a little less imitating. when creating this piece i made the areas around my subjects less detailed to make the atmosphere feel more like looking back fondly on a memory.

i had so much fun creating this piece. it’s definitely my largest work yet. by @crissysartprocess
