Loved volunteering at the @purrmaidcafeandadoptioncenter booth at @oxnardlgbtq pride! I really needed to re-connect with our local community. It was so great to see artists, families, advocates, and allies. It reminded me that it’s beautiful to live in the intersection of my identity as a queer Latina. I wish I had more pictures but here we are being um… gay! #pride by @cristy_friedegg
Our student assistants organized getting all of the ladies in the office flowers for #internationalwomensday so sweet! I hope you all have a great day 🌺🌷💐🌹 by @cristy_friedegg
We spent some time this weekend enjoying the sunshine at Gardens of the World. Sending sunshine your way ☀️🌸🌻🌷🌼🌹 by @cristy_friedegg
🇺🇸VOTERS🇺🇸 Got your ballot in the mail? Here are my endorsements. I use @ballotready to prep my ballot. I like quick access to information and being able to track/organize my thoughts. I also got great opinions on @knockdotla voter guide. Check out the link in my bio for both resources. Let’s VOTE! 🇺🇸🗳️🇺🇸🗳️🇺🇸🗳️🇺🇸🗳️🇺🇸🗳️ A lil more about my endorsements: 🇺🇸President: I’m a registered Democrat. Honestly, I’m gonna write in “Ceasefire” Biden doesn’t get my support until he listens to us. 🍉@joebiden 🇺🇸U.S. Senate- Barbara Lee. Yes, for both seats. Katie Porter is loud and has good points on domestic policy, but Barbara Lee has been a FIERCE advocate for ceasefire in Gaza and has the better track record. If I want my voice heard, Barbara Lee is the strongest option. Giving her both of my votes is giving Barbara Lee support to get on the general election ballot. @barbaraleeforca 🇺🇸U.S. House of Reps,California 26th District - no good options. Julia Brownley has REPEATEDLY ignored our petitions to call for a ceasefire in Gaza and voted to equate anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism. She’s lost my support and constantly works against my interest. Her opponents are Republicans that do not fare better. I’m leaving this one blank. @juliabrownley 🇺🇸California State Senate, District 27- Henry Stern. A strong environmentalist. Collins is too pro-cop for me. @henrysternca 🇺🇸California State Assembly, District 42 - Jaqui Irwin. She’s not particularly stellar, a Democrat institutionalist, but not particularly bad either? A lukewarm endorsement but nothing bad. 🇺🇸Ventura County Superior Court Judge - Ted Andrews. I know people who work with him and for him describe him as careful, considerate, and level-headed. Big thumbs up! 🇺🇸Prop 1- NO. As an advocate for mental health resources, I’m usually all for more stuff being available. This measure is misleading on purpose. It makes allocations of funds less flexible AND increases forced “preventative care” which disproportionately affects the homeless BIPOC community. This forced institutionalization is not effective, strips people of their rights, and ableist. by @cristy_friedegg
This Christmas, I want to pray for our Brothers and Sisters in Palestine. I often think of Christians, Muslims, Jews- people of Abrahamic faiths- as cousins. We are family and family is the most important part of this season. Check out @cakes_stencils art and Pray with me. Father, we ask you to unite your children. Bring peace to your people who live in the Holy Land where your Prophets and Son touched the Earth. Jesus, bring solace to your brothers and sisters that have lost their homes, their families, their children, their limbs. May they live to see Palestine’s freedom and never worry about this again. Holy Spirit, bring light to world leaders, especially in the United States to use our power to end these horrors. Father, FORGIVE us for being blind and complicit in these horrors. Christ Jesus, cleanse our eyes and keep our hearts tender. Holy Spirit, give is strength to DEMAND change and work for peace. Father, may we keep your name Holy. In whatever language we speak, Allah, Hashem, Lord God may your name be Love. May your name be Peace. May your name be Unity. May Love and Peace be kept Holy. Amen. #freepalestine #peaceonearth by @cristy_friedegg

Been sharing stories but it’s worth saying that I support the WGA strike and stand in solidarity with @wgawest @wgaeast @sagaftra @teamsters and all the labor unions that bring dream worlds to life on screen. Pay your artists! What we can do now is be loud, respect picket lines, donate to @alifeinthearts if you can and wait for further instructions. More info on all that is in my linktree on my bio. Solidarity is power. #solidarity #wgastrike #sagstrike #payyourartists #wgastrong by @cristy_friedegg

Here we are a little delirious with exhaustion but it was well worth it. @artsunderthestars first-ever Stage Management team. We absolutely crushed it and I am immensely proud and grateful to Maya and Val for their dedicated work. These two are talented, brilliant artists. #slaymanagers #stagemanagement #auts2023 #csuci by @cristy_friedegg
