Thanks, @instantcosmos, for featuring one of my favorite shots in your weekly challenge announcement. It’s an interesting one to highlight on Halloween weekend because there’s a “ghost story” that goes with it. I shot this many years ago at Jordan Pond in Acadia National Park with some early color film from The Impossible Project. It took at least 45 minutes back then before you saw an image on that film and you had to completely shield it from light. When this one developed I was surprised to see the boy on the rocks. I didn’t see him in the viewfinder of my SLR 680 when I shot the picture, nor did I see him before or after shooting it. Was he a spirit of the pond? I’ll never know but it gave me an eerie feeling when I first saw this photo and it still does today….

My post for @the12.12project this month is “AI 2K,” interpreting the group’s theme of “Y2K.” While this picture story collaboration with @leeonnista may look like an AI hallucination, it was made using filters on a Polaroid I-2 camera and I-Type Black Frame film. Let’s hope we can look back on AI anxieties with the same sense of relief as we have about Y2K…

300 Down: Only 65 shots left in this year’s 365 Project on the Polaroid Go (@yearonthego). Here’s a look at some of the shots that attracted the most eyeballs, beginning and with shots of our popular orange cat, Scottie, (short for Butterscotch)

Sunday Scenes: More shots from Sunday’s @sfinstantphotowalk done with various filters on the Polaroid I-2

Autumnal Alex: Double exposed fall portrait of @achengphotos at Sunday’s @sfinstantphotowalk. Shot through a centerfield split diopter filter on Polaroid’s I-2 camera

Rouge: That was today’s theme for the @sfinstantphotowalk in Hayes Valley. Not sure why. But this shot of @nekropolis at @elbowchocolates was my shot for the theme

Day 6, Photo 1 of Polaroidweek: Leeonista (@leeonnista) has collaborated on a number of Polaroid shoots over the years and has appeared in many of my Polaroidweeks as a result. But this time I had no fresh ones on hand despite doing a great shoot earlier this month. Watch for a post next Friday from that when the next theme posts for @the12.12project. Meanwhile here’s an outtake from a past shoot

Day 5, Photo 2 of Polaroidweek: The first rainy days of fall in San Jose reminded of this photo I shot in Brussels last fall of a sculpture by Eugène Caneel. It depicts children playing with a goat but suggests to me children dancing in the rain. Shot with a Spectra blur filter taped to a Polaroid Flip camera

Carmen’s Shadow
Day 5, Photo 1 of Roidweek: Triptych of the shadow cast by Alexander Calder’s monumental sculpture called Carmen that stands in the courtyard of Museo Reina Sofia in Madrid. Done with Polaroid I-Type film that I colored with a yellow brush marker. I added black borders to emulate my favorite duochrome film that the company made

Day 4, Photo 2 of Polaroidweek: A black and white alternate from a shoot with @miaomiao_626 for my July @the12.12project theme of “Déjà Vu.” Done with a multi image filter on the Polaroid I-2.

Gran Via
Day 4, Photo 1 of Polaroidweek: Combined three filters on the I-2 camera -brown, green and fan prism - to capture this scene on Madrid’s prime shopping area.
