Members of our architectural team had the incredible opportunity to present at last week's 2026 @aiaarkansas State Convention on "Artificial Intelligence: Risks and Benefits."

Together Areej Ali, Justice Barnes, Mario Pacheco, and Scott Stricker from the Cromwell team, amongst others, delivered the session and posed several questions. The exploration centered on how AI is reshaping industries, the legal and ethical considerations to navigate, and the practical ways professionals can adopt AI.

Today we are taking a moment to recognize our team members Justice Barnes, Areej Ali, AIA, LEED GA, and Mario Pacheco for their unwavering dedication to further advancing local community and progress.

National Organization of Minority Architects @nomanational (NOMA)'s mission, rooted in a rich legacy of activism, is to empower our local chapters and membership to foster justice and equity in communities of color through outreach, community advocacy, professional development and design excellence. Below, a few words about the importance and effects of NOMA chapters from Justice Barnes,

"For years, Arkansas lacked a professional NOMA chapter, a gap many of us felt deeply after graduating from NOMAS programs and losing the community that helped shape us. What began as recognizing that gap grew into a statewide effort to build a place where mentorship, representation, advocacy, and belonging could continue beyond school. Through persistence, partnership, and a shared belief that representation matters, our founding team Areej Ali, AIA, LEED GA; Mario Pacheco; Laura Ramirez; and myself — helped transform an idea into a movement. In the article, the story explores how early conversations evolved into structured planning sessions, how interest expanded across firms and universities, and how community support propelled the official process of forming NOMA Arkansas."

Congratulations to Areej Ali on her selection to Class XXLII of Leadership Greater Little Rock!

Since 1985, the Little Rock Regional Chamber has chosen a small group of promising individuals to complete this program each year. Areej will go through detailed training on a wide array of local public policy issues and concerns.

Highlighting our renovation of the old Southwestern Energy Building in Conway for Molex Incorporated.

The renovated facility features work stations, lab areas, and collaboration spaces. Headquartered in Central Arkansas, we are always looking for opportunities to collaborate with local partners as we find pride in being able to serve our home state and its businesses.

Today, we are highlighting our highly successful master planning efforts for the Winthrop Rockefeller Conference Center on Petit Jean Mountain.

Cromwell was able to thoughtfully connect conference facilities, lodging, dining, garden space, and walking trails, bringing together the campus as a whole.

Originally established in 1953, the Rockefeller Center holds a legacy of its own. This project was the recipient of the 2009 Arkansas Preservation Outstanding New Construction in a Historic Setting Award for its transformation, through adaptive use, of the Rockefeller home and farm into the conference center you see today.
