It’s a family affair - Meet Brice and Vanessa!

Brice found a love of fitness early, working out and lifting weights with high school friends at the Air Force base gym close by his home. When attending Northern Arizona University, he got a job in the campus gym and realized fitness would be his career. After graduation, Brice got certified as a personal trainer and off he went…changing lives.

Brice was a “CrossFit-er” before “CrossFit-ing” was a thing - waaaay back in 2005 when he was working as a personal trainer at a small studio. He and some of the other trainers started doing the workouts posted on “dotcom” and it quickly became a daily habit. It was a huge influence on Brice’s fitness and training philosophy. It was 12 years later that Brice had an opportunity to purchase a CrossFit “box,” and he became the owner of Fixx on April 1, 2017.

Vanessa had a career behind desks in social services and program administration, but also almost 20 years of part-time work as a fitness instructor. She loved to hear how she made fitness fun and accessible, how she was changing people's lives and helping them to reach their full potential.

After a time, Vanessa felt trapped behind that 9-5 desk where she felt she was doing service only to administration and bureaucracy. So…she decided to leap deeper into the fitness world, getting her CF-L1, becoming a certified nutrition coach and into gym ownership with Brice.

Brice and Vanessa have gone through some struggles, including Brice’s late-in-life Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis, owning a gym during the COVID pandemic, and figuring out how to live without employment provided benefits as co-business owners…(it ain't for the faint of heart)!

But rest assured, they are in it for the long haul. Because at Fixx, every day, they get to help create and maintain a community where people are supported, encouraged and motivated to live a life to feel GOOD about! And they get to raise their daughters in this incredible environment where fitness isn’t about losing weight but about FEELING GREAT!

This August, we issued a call to action to our athletes: show up, commit, and watch the transformation unfold. We asked our 3x/week members to reach 13 classes and our unlimited members to hit 15. And the result? A remarkable 54 athletes rose to the occasion! We're beaming with pride, celebrating each and every one of you. Last month, we had some BIG attendance milestones at Fixx, and we want to celebrate the athletes who keep putting in the work! AND (better late than never) we are celebrating our semi-private and private training athletes who have been making big commitments to their health and fitness!
