Disappointment can drive you away from God or drive you deeper into God.

Prayer is how the church responds to disappointment. Not because we have all the answers, but because we know where to take our pain, confusion, grief and questions.

Even when we don’t understand what God is doing, we can still go to God.

Prayer isn’t where we go when we feel like it. It’s where we go when we need God. And spoiler alert: we always need God.

Following Jesus doesn’t mean we won’t suffer, be disappointed or face uncertainty. It means we will never suffer alone.

The enemy wants to take our disappointment and turn it into distance from God. Jesus wants to turn it into dependence on Him.

We’re called to do both, but sometimes we have to slow down long enough to see the needs right in front of us, because the right word, at the right time, from the right person, could change someone’s life.
