Some shots while playing @thelinksatwestfork in Conroe, TX.

Course was in good shape, the greens were responsive and rolled true. I read a bunch of mixed comments about the course prior to playing. It is under new management and they are trying to bring it back to life.

The format and routing is very fun, elevation and technical shots are required. The front 9 was my favorite as it required more decision making and had more elevation changes

My favorite hole, hole 6 (if I remember correctly) is a par 5, with a blind dog leg right tee shot, approach is uphill and over a creek with a sand trap in front of the green.

Pricing is comparable to other courses in Houston. Weekday $65, weekends $80

Enjoy it because you won’t find something like this in the city!

Played a night round at @eastriver9 after we got rained out @blackhorsegolfclub . Course has 9 holes with 2 sets of tee boxes giving you 18 different tee positions all to the same pin location. It’s a fun walking course with a chill, laid back atmosphere. It does get crowded so get a tee time online and have fun! Go at night, it’s a whole vibe!

Had a blast on my 40th birthday weekend!

Got to play:
High Meadow Ranch - awesome and worth the drive!
Blackhorse North - only played 4 holes then we got rained out 😔
East River 9 - great par 3 with awesome downtown Houston views (play it at night!)
The Links at West Fork - fun track with very nice greens!

Sound up! 🔊

Is there anything better than listening to pure irons and booming drivers!?

It was fun walking the final round of the Texas Children’s Houston Open at Memorial Park GC

Watching the pros play the sport you love is a sight to behold. Pure ball m stricking, draining 10+ft putts with ease and having the finesse around glass greens shows you just how good they truly are!

Rep’d the Golf Codeword hat. Got plenty of comments and felt comfortable all day!

Capturing the beauty that is Wild Spring Dunes

It’s going to be a world renowned golfing destination when it’s all said and done. And it’s only hours from every major city in Texas, Shreveport, & Lake Charles, LA.

Thanks to Michael Keiser Jr with Tom Doak, Bill Coore & Ben Crenshaw, world class public golf is readily available to those that call Texas home.

I may never make it to Bandon, Pine Valley or Sand Valley but I sure as hell can drive 3hrs to get a taste of those great courses!

The team of Michael and Chris Keiser with the help of Tom Doak (yes, that Doak! has an absolute gem in the making with Wild Spring Dunes slated to open around September 2026.

We got to play a preview round of 8 holes (x2) and the videos do not do this course justice! I can’t wait to get out and get the full 18 experience!

My favorite par 3 at Pine Dunes Resort & Golf Club in Frankston, TX

Nice elevation tee shot to a green below with sand traps that’ll gobble up wayward shots left and woods a couple paces from the green on the right and behind.
