Sorry for saying I’ll post more and disappearing again for 8 months. Please accept my apologies in the form of these doodles of Maria from silent hill 2. I’ve been consistently making art this whole time, I just never remember to post it here 💀 #sketchbook #illustration #silenthill by @crowclub

🏳️‍⚧️ today is trans day of visibility 🏳️‍⚧️
The first time I came out as a transgender man was when I was a freshman in high school. I am now 24 years old, and I’ve been on testosterone for almost 9 months. I waited a very long time to start hormones, and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. I feel more at home in my body than I ever have before. I didn’t realize just how much dysphoria was impacting my life every day until I stopped feeling it so frequently and so acutely. It’s truly been life changing, and I know that I will only continue to gain confidence as time goes on.
Being a trans person in today’s political climate is scary. There have been many many times in the past few years where I have been deeply afraid for the future, both for myself and for the trans community at large, but I refuse to let that fear stop me from living openly as my true self. Trans people have always existed, we will always exist, and we will continue to fight for our rights, our lives, and our happiness. by @crowclub

Hello everyone. It’s been a very long time. Three weeks ago my darling Bella passed away at 15 on her favorite blanket at home. I was hoping to return to this account with an art post, but I felt like it would be wrong to jump back into posting without memorializing my girl in some way. She was such a special girl, and we were so lucky to have her for so many wonderful years. I miss her terribly. I’m hoping to post more art from now on, so keep an eye out. Sorry for being away for so long. by @crowclub

Hello everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve posted on ig. After the end of the school year I had basically no motivation to make art for a while, and it took several months for me to want to draw much at all again. Recently I’ve been playing ace attorney, and for some reason doing that gave me the inspiration to work on art again. Ive been drawing practically every day for the past month or so, and it feels great to have that part of myself back after a really long period of burnout. Hopefully I’ll be back to posting more regularly #illustration #sketchbook #poscapens #aceattorney #mayafey #pearlfey by @crowclub

A little timelapse of doing lines on this drawing of my so far unnamed vampire oc. I’m getting the hang of digital inks way faster than I expected, and I’m actually enjoying doing digital art which I didn’t think would happen. #illustration #timelapseart #digitalillustration #crowclubocs #processvideo by @crowclub

As I work like crazy to get the last of my thesis work done I thought I’d post some progress pics from my favorite part of my illustration process, the inks. I love how my ink drawings look before I color them. It’s a never ending challenge to try and enhance and complement them with color instead of messing the whole thing up #illustration #wip #inking #characterdesign #illukcaithesis #illukcaithesisspring21 by @crowclub

Me? Doing digital art? Shocking, I know. I recently bought a new drawing tablet (a huion inspiroy H950P which I’m in love with) after my computer decided to stop running my old one’s driver. I decided that it would suit my thesis work better to color it digitally to save time and keep the colors more consistent, and to do that I needed a tablet that worked. It’s been so long since I’ve digitally done anything more than filling in flat colors, so I’ve been playing around in clip studio paint trying to find what brushes and settings work for me.
Here’s a timelapse of what I thought would just be a quick doodle of achilles and patroclus that turned into a finished illustration. I’m obviously very rusty, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised by what I’ve been able to do so far.

Now that I have character designs finalized, I’m working on costume designs. Part of my goal with this project is to come up with a distinct style of dress and aesthetic for this fantasy setting I’ve created, which means drawing inspiration from a lot of sources and putting them together in a way that is distinctly different from any one existing style. #illustration #sketchbook #characterdesign #illukcaithesis #illukcaithesisspring21 by @crowclub

This year’s mystery project was to make a portrait of either the sender or receiver of a letter chosen from a collection of WWI era letters and postcards that Steve (our department head) found at an estate sale years ago. Obviously, that was right up my alley, and I had a great time painting this sad lady who received a very sweet letter from her husband off fighting in the war. I just visited the WWI museum here in KC last weekend to see the exhibit of french fashion through the war that they gave going on right now, and took a lot of inspiration from the postcard illustrations they have in their collection there. I also tried out some stuff with colored pencils that I think turned out really nice, and loosened up my painting a little bit to make it look a little bit aged and weathered. Overall, I had a really great time with it
