Earlier this month, we celebrated International Cat Day. Today, we’re spreading the love to all the dogs, because it’s National Dog Day — the perfect moment to appreciate our employees’ loyal, lovable pups.

Today is national relaxation day.
It is important to take time to relax and rest. Being outside can help to reduce stress and plants such as Lavender have a scent that many people find relaxing.

After a busy winter period Crowders Nurseries have taken advantage of some major investment, installing a new Keeder Polytunnel which is now operational, this can hold over 500,000 native cells. Within this we have installed an Urbinati lander seeding machine that can sow over 25,000 cells per day.

Cell-grown trees are becoming an increasingly significant part of our young tree range, driven by strong demand from customers who recognise their advantages. Unlike the winter bare-root stock we produce at our nursery in Woodhall Spa, cells can be planted all year round and develop stronger, more resilient root systems, making them a highly valued option for successful establishment.

If UK sourced and grown cells are of interest, then please get in touch and we can gladly give you a tour of our 330-acres site that had operated in Lincolnshire for over 228 years.

Officially Launching – Cells!

Following 2 years of trials we are officially launching cells to all our customers. We have over 500,000 UK sourced and grown cells in production this year in a range of hedging and tree species.
Our new Keeder Polytunnel is now fully operational and will hold over 500,000 cells, produced by our new Urbiati lander seeding machine sowing over 25,000 cells per day.

Cells offer better reliability, easier planting and a longer planting season, making them ideal if you want higher success rates with less risk.

Have an upcoming planting project and require cells with associated sundries? Contact our sales team today on enquiries@crowders.co.uk or call 01507 585000

As part of a nationwide fundraising initiative called the Community Book Pledge, Horncastle Primary School raised donations towards new books for the school library. They were aiming to raise £1000 with an additional £600 from Usborne; however, we are delighted to say they smashed this goal, tripling with a grand total of £4841.

We are proud, as a local company, to have pledged £250 towards the campaign after some of our employees' children, who attend the school, brought home requests in their book bags. In recognition of Crowders' contribution, Jason (Head of Procurement) was invited to the school to attend a special assembly in front of all the students, where he was presented with a certificate and shown the new books that our donation helped to provide.
