Crowleys breakfast bowl all prepped and ready to go into the freezer for some morning enrichment.

Whilst smoking brisket for my dinner, I smoked some chook bones to make some broth as well. Going into the warmer months we really want to make sure hes getting enough hydration in.

The broth is officially on! We've got roasted beef bones and some cheeky oxtail simmering away to add those nice meaty bits. After a week of slow cooking, it's going to be liquid gold.

The plan? Half for the humans. perfect for an au jus to go with beef cheek. The other half is for Crowley, destined to become his favourite "beef ice block" snacks and to be poured into lick mats and puzzles then frozen for some added enrichment. So good for guts and joints, for both species!

Great tip for dog broth: cook it low and slow in the rice cooker.

There are other ways to work off energy during heat waves that don't involve putting hour fur baby at risk of heatstroke stroke. Indoor enrichment is so important on these days, with aircon if applicable.
