I couldn’t let today go by without acknowledging my official ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of being a loc girly!! ☝🏾🍾🥳

I have grown so much during this year, inside and out, and my locs have played a huge part in that. From embracing my natural beauty to patiently witnessing myself bloom, I am transforming right along with my hair, into the person I was always meant to be. I feel so grateful for each of my strands seeking to be closer to one another as I, too, get closer to myself. The freedom and joy that this hair decision has brought me is unparalleled. I always say I wish I’d done it sooner, but I know that I started when I was ready for all the reflections this experience would bring. I am so blessed, and so ready for what’s to come 💕✨ by @crown_tingz

Some trial curls for Texture Tuesday 💓 had to try out my perm rods again before an event this weekend. But I did it on an old retwist that’s about to get washed out, which means I added no product and it’ll probably look different when I try again on Thursday. I’ll post an updated look for sure 🙂‍↕️ by @crown_tingz

I feel like my locs are doing so much and also nothing at all. There was so much rapid change in the very beginning and I felt like I was rocketing toward the locs of my dreams!! Now they’re settling in which is a comfort in itself, but the progress feels much more gradual. The difference between retwists is less dramatic, and they’re really testing my patience rn. Not in a bad way, but in a real way. Grateful for the ease and consistency they’re offering while my life feels a little stormy 🌊🌀 by @crown_tingz

Back to the headband post wash 🙃 I love that my retwist lasted me so long and I’m really looking forward to when my hair starts falling down without it. I want that dang bob!! For now I just gotta make sure it’s clean and hydrated and let it do what it does in the meantime. This starter phase is really such a lesson in relinquishing control. Celebrating what is instead of clinging to what isn’t. I’m grateful for it. 🙏🏾 by @crown_tingz
