I use to have a very unhealthy relationship with alcohol. I drank to numb and to avoid myself, my emotions and my calling. Last year I took a year off from drinking and did some extensive traveling and really dove deeper on healing myself and my relationship with some of my unhealthy habits.

I learned that everything we do is for a reason and a “payoff” whether it’s causing chaos, scrolling socials or drinking too much we are looking to avoid something we aren’t ready to acknowledge. In the year of sobriety I peeled back the layers of myself and really saw who I was and what I was trying to run from.

Now I can have some drinks with my boys or when I go on a date as a social connection rather than automatic crutch. I’m fully living in my calling doing the work that I was meant to do. When I was playing small living below my potential the alc helped me distract myself from the fact I wasn’t living a life that I was suppose to live.

Welcomed into the Crown & Ash brotherhood. 🥃💨

This is bigger than a cigar club.

It’s about proximity. Relationships. Brotherhood. Growth.

Who you surround yourself with matters. The people you allow into your life can either challenge you to become more or slowly convince you to settle for less.

At 35, I’ve experienced both sides of that lesson.

You can tell a lot about a man by how he dresses, but you can tell even more about him by the company he keeps.

I’ve never believed in playing small.

Speak boldly about who you are becoming. Walk into rooms that stretch you. Build relationships with people who think bigger, lead with integrity, and refuse to settle for average.

Napoleon Hill said:

“Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”

Your environment matters.
Your circle matters.
Your mindset matters.

Tell the world exactly who you’re becoming, then have the discipline to become that man every single day.
