👑 The Crowned With Courage Promise 👑

This promise is for our finalists, founders, staff, supporters and partners.

However it is also for every person who has lived through violence against women and girls, trauma or abuse.

For anyone who has walked those painful paths and struggled to understand what happened.

For anyone who has questioned their own actions, decisions or responses.

For anyone who has carried shame that was never theirs to hold.

Survival does not always look neat or make sense from the outside.

Sometimes survival means staying.
Sometimes it means leaving and returning.
Sometimes it means freezing, complying, going quiet or doing whatever felt safest in that moment.

None of those responses make you weak.

They show that you were finding a way through circumstances you should never have been placed in.

The responsibility belongs with the person who chose to harm, control, manipulate or abuse you. It does not belong with you.

Our promise is to keep choosing compassion over judgement, healing over shame and sisterhood over competition.

We will honour our boundaries, trust our instincts and celebrate every step forward, however small it may seem.

We will remind one another that our worth was never determined by what someone else did to us.

And we will keep choosing ourselves.

Because courage is not the absence of fear.

It is choosing to keep moving forward despite it. 🤍

@carolinestrawson #regulate modules on the train to London for the @wearenowie Big Survey: What Happens Next event in Westminster. This is an event close to my heart, as it’s about hearing from speakers discussing workplace safety & the #VAWG sector, and what the changes in employment legislation mean in practice. I love getting into rooms with dynamic people to listen, get more education and network to try and get my brain going and take this information back to the panels I sit on, in #redcarandcleveland to ensure women and girls safety is paramount.

5 DAYS ON… AND THIS IS WHAT WE KEEP COMING BACK TO

Not the crown 👑

Not the stage 💅

Not even the incredible night itself ❤️

It’s the sisterhood 🥹

We genuinely believe these ladies have found something so special in one another… something that’s harder than people realise especially after trauma. They’ve found friendship without judgement, without shame, without competition.

Just love ❤️

Support ❤️

Encouragement ❤️

The kind of friendship where you champion what the woman beside you stands for, celebrate her growth, hold space for her vulnerability and genuinely want to see her win too.

And that makes us so, so proud.

Because this is exactly what we hoped Crowned With Courage would become.

Not women competing against each other, but women standing beside one another.

You can see it in the way they look at each other.

You can see it in their body language.

You can feel the happiness, the contentment, the safety, the love.

There is something incredibly powerful about watching women realise they do not have to shrink, compare or compete to belong.

They can simply be themselves and still be celebrated.

This sisterhood is the true reflection of everything we ever wanted to create.

And honestly, that might just be the greatest success of all. 🤍

I am forever thankful for all who are walking by me, supporting me and never giving up on me and to the universe for bringing amazing souls into my life so we can hold each other up together for healing.

✨👑 A VERY SPECIAL SURPRISE FOR OUR FINALISTS 👑✨

One of the moments we absolutely loved keeping under wraps for our Crowned With Courage finalists was this beautiful video message from Holly Willoughby. 🤍

Our incredible confidence coach, Rubie, had the opportunity to meet Holly and tell her all about Crowned With Courage, what the journey represents, the women taking part and everything our finalists had been working towards.

Holly then very kindly recorded a special good luck message for our ladies, which we kept completely secret and surprised them with during the finals. 🥹✨

It was such a lovely moment and meant so much to be able to show our finalists that people outside of the immediate journey were rooting for them too.

To our beautiful ladies we hope that message reminded you just how much support, belief and love was surrounding you as you stepped onto that stage.

And Rubie… thank you for making such a special surprise happen. 🤍

It hasn’t sunk in yet of the beautiful event we had in the weekend @crowned_with_courage 😘👑

I whimped out for past few days to open the cards and gift bag that I was given, knowing that it will be sentimental…… I was absolutely surprised to see that It’s all spiritual things I love! 😫 Thank you ladies!! I absolutely love them! 🤗Eekkkkkkkkkk!! I can’t stop crying now I honestly think I have imposter syndrome where I don’t believe my own impact on people. I know I should but I just don’t… reading these beautiful messages made me feel so warm. So thank you! I am so unbelievably proud to be your Confidence Coach 💥🙌🏽🙏🏽

I witnessed so much love, so much laughter and many tears over this weekend and that’s because when you hold a place of safety, you give wings to people, anything is possible and our wonderful finalists presented themselves in their absolute best🙌🏽

Change is always scary and challenging and to dive into the unknown is so brave! To watch them all grow is so special to me. I honestly can’t be more proud of Hayley, Lucy, Simran, Shelby and Kirsty! 🙏🏽

Also ultimately a huge thanks to the dream team Priya & Georgina and huge congratulations to our Crowned With Courage Queen Hayley! Can’t wait to work with you for another year!! 👸 👑

👑✨ WE FOUND OUR PEOPLE ✨👑

One of the most powerful things about Saturday wasn’t just what happened on the stage, it was looking around the room and realising just how many people were there who genuinely want to stand alongside us in tackling violence against women and girls.

What a room. What an energy. What a collective of advocates, allies, professionals, survivors and changemakers.

A massive shoutout to @project.salama who showed up in full force with an incredible table of 10 supporting Crowned With Courage and The Jessica Project. That kind of support means everything.

We were also joined by @risebeyondabuse_uk @the_heavy_set the High sheriff of Leicestershire @highsheriffofleicestershire , @empowera.by.raj @bianca.wardally @alison.dare.90 the amazing @parisshears_ @daniellabaroness The Mayoress of Windsor and her consort, Priya, Georgie and Rubie who are all known advocates.

And then our newest advocates our incredible Crowned With finalists Shelby, Kirsty, Simran, Lucy, and our Ms Courage 2026 winner, Hayley. 👑

Watching these women grow in confidence, find their voices and step forward ready to advocate in their own way has been one of the most special parts of this entire journey.

And we gained some new advocates too.

Our brilliant security team, who came in to help keep the night safe and ended up fully understanding and supporting what Crowned With Courage stands for.

And our incredible host for the night, Kai, who brought the whole evening together with such professionalism, warmth and energy another voice standing beside women and girls and supporting this movement.

Saturday reminded us that this work is so much bigger than one organisation, one event or one person.

It takes people willing to show up, listen, believe survivors, challenge harmful attitudes and use their voices to create change.

And they showed up.

For women and girls.

We found our people, and our people came through. We also held a minutes silence for the women and girls who’ve lost their lives to male violence 🙏

This is what allyship looks like and this is how change happens.

Still thinking about the Crowned with Courage pageant… 💛

It was so special to see pageantry being used to break stigma and encourage women to use their voices. This was about so much more than crowns and gowns. It was about courage, growth, sisterhood and survivors being heard.

It was an honour to meet every survivor who took part as a finalist. They were all so lovely, and I’m still astounded by how far they’ve come. In just ten months, with the support of Priya, Georgie and everyone at The Jessica Project, they’ve achieved things that might once have felt years away. It was so heartwarming to witness.

And I still can’t get over Hayley saying, “Oh my God, that’s Paris Shears!” I was the one thinking, “Oh my God, I’ve got a picture with Ms Courage 2026!” 😂👑

A huge, huge congratulations to Hayley, our Ms Courage Queen. So well deserved! 💛 by @crowned_with_courage

Diving into my bag of presents with my gorgeous girls was an amazing moment last night. They were so excited to see my sash and crown, and I told them to never stop standing up to bullies, even when it feels hard, because doing the right thing can sometimes come at a personal cost, but there are always people out there who will champion you, you just need to find your people 💖 I am beyond grateful #crownedwithcourage #mscourage2026 #vawg #neverfeelalone by @crowned_with_courage
