✨As September is coming to a close, I’m so grateful for all that I experienced during my birthday month! The love, kind words, beautiful gifts, surprises, great music, the presence of incredible people and so much more!

✨I lost my mom at 29 and she was 46. The enemy taunted me for years and told my I would not live past her age. I was bound by fear and had to constantly resist the lies! To see how God has been faithful to preserve my life and give me the discipline to reclaim my health by reversing diabetes and high blood pressure caused by perimenopause is a MIRACLE! Losing 88 lbs is just an added bonus and I’m forever grateful!

✨I always celebrate my birthday but not with a party. This year, my daughter strongly encouraged me to have one and I’m so glad I did! I’m blessed to have amazing relationships with some phenomenal people who joined me in celebrating and it was more than I expected. Some met each other for the first time but it felt like family in one room! The laughter, singing, dancing, great food and conversations made it a night to remember!

✨I want to thank everyone who celebrated with me! My beautiful children: Devin, Donovan & Victoria, Kim, Sabrina, Tange, LaTonya, Brien, Felicia, Nikki, Abe, Deena and Brinson. Special thanks to Jaylen Nelson who’s like a bonus son for capturing the special moments. I’m forever grateful to each of you and will always cherish the memories.

HAPPY 63RD BIRTHDAY TO ME! ❤️🔥

Born in ’63. NOW turning 63.

This birthday feels different. It marks a TURNING POINT.

I’m grateful for every victory, every valley, every lesson—and for the evidence of growth and becoming.

And at this stage of life, one thing I’ve learned: I’m never going to be finished becoming. But I don’t have to wait until I have it all figured out to execute. I can keep becoming while executing.

The widow in 2 Kings 4 had something in her house. BUT - she had to POUR.

So at 63, I’m not declaring that I’ve arrived. I’m declaring that it’s time to use what’s already in my hands.

I don’t execute to earn it. I execute to receive it.

AND NOW…I EXECUTE.

Can’t let the day pass without shouting Happy Birthday to my favorite Sigma man! 💙

To the cowboy who’d happily skip all the hoopla… but somehow chose a city girl who believes birthdays are meant to be celebrated. Thank you for letting me make a little fuss over you today—you deserve every bit of it.

CNA Week Is Ending. The Conversation Cannot.

As CNA Week comes to a close, I want to speak directly to the leaders entrusted with supporting the people who carry the mission.

You can be compliant and still be in crisis.

While we celebrate the caregivers who serve with compassion, dedication, and heart, celebration alone is not enough.

Caregivers are the backbone of our healthcare and human services systems, yet many are carrying invisible burdens that impact retention, morale, wellbeing, and organizational stability.

In this excerpt from the 2026 State of the Caregivers Address, I share a message for leaders who have the power to influence culture, strengthen teams, and help restore the people carrying the mission.

The future of care depends on the people providing it.
