Look at this magic that @spiritdirt has created! I’m very happy to be a contributor to the first issue of this project. Even more so, I’m grateful to be part of a community of such lovely souls.

Hellebore magic from the equally magical @thebotanistcalgary
I went in to pick up flowers and ended up having a great conversation with the wonderful owner. I will be visiting this plant filled sanctuary many more times. So much gratitude for this space.💚🌿 by @crows_stone_snow

*CW: Colonial Genocide.* In this time of grief, we mourn the 215 children whose lives were stolen and the many, many more who were and continue to be impacted by residential schools and colonial violence.

This collective grief altar has been assembled with the intention to hold space. It can feel like our grief has nowhere to go. This altar is one place you can safely work with it and know you are being held by these stones, leaves, and flowers.

The central stone was given nightly offerings for a lunation (from dark moon to dark moon) to thank it for its ability to tend to grief.

If you are called to, you can pause and allow yourself to feel held by this altar and to allow your grief to be tended to.

This altar is also a call to ACTION. We must redistribute funds, educate ourselves by listening to those who have been impacted, we need to read/re-read The Truth and Reconciliation Report, amplify BIPOC voices, demand change in organizations and government and also in ourselves. We cannot rely on the emotional labour of BIPOC folks. It’s imperative that we unlearn and learn and change by examining our biases and behaviours.

Thank you @the.bruja.wolf.ma for being an amazing inspiration, teacher, and magical being. Thank you for sharing your experiences and wisdom. You help us to be better.
Thank you to all those who are willing to look directly at this and untangle themselves from their conditioning and privilege to take action. May those actions heal backwards and forwards. May it be so and so it is. by @crows_stone_snow

This Gal-entines box by @sisters_sage @yukonsoapscompany @scarlettdesigns @bunnys.makery has brought so much beauty, joy, and deliciousness to this day. They are all such talented makers and I highly recommend them! Every item in this box is so wonderful it defies description!

Sending love today and also tenderness to the grief that may arise as we turn our attention to our complex, vast, sweet, and sometimes broken hearts. 💜🔮 by @crows_stone_snow

In gratitude to winter and snow
To the chill in our bones
That reminds us to go
within to find warmth
Where in our cavernous hearts
dwells the gifts of the dark

Happy Winter Solstice💙❄️🤍 by @crows_stone_snow
