Forgiveness is a gift you give to yourself.

Why IS forgiveness so hard?

Joseph had to face it when he faced the very brothers who sold him into slavery (Genesis 45). He had all the power in the situation. And if he imprisoned them or sent them away to starve, it would’ve at least been understandable.

But he chose another, better way. He chose to give a gift to himself, and also, the future of his people. You might not ever get the explanation, apology, or recovery you need. But you can work on giving that gift to yourself.

Being scared doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go.

Some of us view fear or difficulty as a reason that God might not actually be calling us to the thing we know we’re supposed to do.

But when you come against what feels like impossible odds, that might mean God is signaling you to trust Him even more.

Gideon faced an army exponentially larger than his own, yet he prevailed. Not because he had exceptional might or wisdom—but because He did what God told him to do.

So if it feels like you’re facing something impossible right now, call on God. This might be the exact place where He’ll show up.

Joseph interpreted dreams no one else could crack, and climbed from prisoner to second-in-command in Egypt. But that's not what Hebrews 11 remembers him for. It's his vision for the future (Hebrews 11:22).

Maybe we won’t be able to interpret dreams like Joseph could, but taking action toward what God has set ahead of us is for everyone. Technicolor dreamcoat optional. by @crsrdschurch

Faith isn’t in your head. It’s in your hands in your feet.

We tend to think “faith” means the nice beliefs that you have. But God tells us that we show our faith not by what we say or think or believe, but by what we do (James 2:18). So go ahead. Faith isn’t about what’s in your head. It’s about where your feet take you.

Faith isn’t just some nice feelings we have about God. We SHOW our faith when we move and take action. Feeding the hungry, visiting people in prison, or just plain showing up when your neighbor is in need. James says our faith without putting it into action is worthless (James 2:14-25).

Jesus calls us to use our feet and our hands to show his love. So let’s get to work.

That’s why we do Family Camp. Best case scenario, you have 18 good summers with your kids. You can’t do anything about the ones in the past. But maybe you can do something about the next one.
