I wandered through the Magnetic Hill Zoo in Moncton. The animals were all out which was really nice and I spent ages watching the otters. It’s always hard to get photos through the chain link fences but the black jaguar was starting right at me patiently waiting for me to take a photo, and maybe thinking I would make a nice lunch 🍖. Afterward I had a @harvesthosts booking just around the corner at the @magnetichillwinery They have a nice level parking lot with an amazing view. I had a charcuterie board and tasting flight. I bought a bottle of Reflections Rose. Sadly it was time to leave Newfoundland. I had an amazing time and really want to go back next summer. The ferry ride was great. I spent a lot of it outside. We saw porpoises, minke whales, maybe a fin whale and a sunfish. Erin Mountain Trail, Barachois Pond Newfoundland. This was such a pretty hike! Most of it was a boardwalk that was so frickin slippery. There were a lot of toads on and beside the path. I was listening to Adversary to the Villian around this time so I was expecting one to have a crown or a wee sign 🪧 #halp . The viewpoint was pretty lame but I still think the hike overall was worth it. Hiked to Baker Brook Falls. There were a lot of purple pitcher plants, Newfoundland’s provincial flower, and tons of other flowers along the trail. It was mostly boardwalk which was really nice but got a bit muddy at the end. I decided to spend an evening at the beach. The night before was the height of the Perseid Meteor Shower but I still saw a ton of meteors. I used my iPhone 17 on a tripod with 30 second exposure and I was really surprised how great the photos turned out. My next campsite was at Shallow Bay. I had power and water and a huge site that was just steps to the beach. The weather was going to be a bit iffy for my time there so I set up my camera in the middle of the night outside my RV to try and photograph the Perseid meteors but I didn’t see any. #rvlife #shallowbay #newfoundland #nightphotography taken in Shallow Bay Campground by @crumbcoveredcompass
