I’ve been here more times than I can count.

Vision getting blurry, feels like a knife going through my temple, speaking makes it worse, noise makes it worse, being near my phone makes it worse

I remember vividly having a migraine so bad I was begging God to make me puke because puking would somehow ease it enough for me to go to sleep and sleep it off.

I had chronic migraines for 10 years and reduced them naturally on my own 💓

My hope is that this comes across your page and I can help you do the same.

I had migraines for over a decade…

Losing weight didn’t help

Changing my diet didn’t fully help

Exercising didn’t help

It wasn’t until I learned that I was actually living in my migraine trigger and inhaling it 24/7

Shoutout to @healthysolsoap for helping me learn that artificial fragrance was the culprit.

I grew up in a small town and graduated from a school that’s pretty much known for not being the smartest (to put it nicely)

So for a long time I struggled with making content and sharing my personal experiences & the things I had learned along the way.

But, I’ve changed my life in more ways than I could have ever imagined and I would be doing a disservice to others to NOT share it.

My goal is to just help one person change their life in a positive way.

So, welcome to my page where you’ll find all things Holisitic health, motherhood, ocasional humor because despite what you may think I am pretty funny and my unsolicited advice on whatever I feel like talking about.

If you decide to leave, thank you for being here and if you decide to stay, thank you for your support!

With love ❤️ by @crunchy.ish

Before I became a mom, all I cared about was being skinny and now I just want to be strong so that my kids don’t outpace me for a long time. by @crunchy.ish

I was the BIG age of 23 before I learned that a menstrual cycle has 4 phases.

And that during each phase, we may feel slightly different.

And that you can only get pregnant during or around ovulation.

Or that it’s actually not normal to have super painful periods or to go months without having one at all.

I’ll never forget the day I was sitting across from a GYN at the age of 17 and I had not had a period for an entire year.

I actually had adults in my life tell me to count my blessings and that “having a period sucks”

The gyn looked at me and said “it’s probably because you’re overweight. Birth control will help”

I then went on to experience the most unhealthy 6 year span of my life.

The lesson to be learned here?

Ask questions.

Don’t just take a doctors word for it.

Think deeply and be assured that healing is ALWAYS possible.

After learning about the 4 stages of the menstrual cycle I then went on to get off of birth control and make it 4 years into a committed relationship without conceiving.

I love you. by @crunchy.ish

I posted that we’ve been loving our hiking backpack over the baby carrier lately, especially since our toddler is over 25lbs now, and many of you said that it looked intimidating to get the kid in by yourself!

Here’s how I do it without help!

Once you get the hang of it, it only takes a few minutes and ends up being so much easier than the baby carrier and honestly easier than back carrying with the baby carrier.

This one is from @keltyusa for those that have asked.

Not affiliated with them, just super impressed at the quality of this thing considering it’s been used through multiple kids before it came to us!

“You’re such good parents, you
always spend so much time
outdoors with your son”

It’s easy to observe how environment affects behavior when it comes to children.

Did you ever stop to think about how it’s affecting you? by @crunchy.ish

Before disposable diapers become popular, most people cloth diapered.

Cloth diapers do not remove moisture away from the skin, therefore baby feels that they are wet immediately.

Vs, modern day disposable diapers remove moisture away from the skin so babies do not feel that they are wet.

While, this is very convenient, it can make potty training more difficult. Especially if you wait until they are over 2 to start taking them to the potty.

So we are getting a little bit of a head start and doing the following:

Offering potty after naps, meals & nursing sessions.

When he pees we make a “psssss” sound and clap & celebrate.

As he’s pooping I make a very weird pushing sound and say “poo poo” as he’s doing it and I show him the poop after and say “poo poo goes in here!” And celebrate.

I do not have any expectations on being diaper free anytime soon, but my goal is to get him to associate pee & poo with being in the bathroom so when the time comes to transition him out of diapers it’s a bit easier (theoretically)

Do with this information what you will, I am just a first time mom doing first time mom things and trying my best!

I pushed my wife too far last session.

This is how she recovered quickly.

That’s the part of coaching nobody posts. She came in not feeling her best, lower back lit up, and I knew it was on me. I loaded her too heavy last workout. Even after 5 years of doing this, I still misjudge a day sometimes.
So we didn’t cancel. We didn’t rest. We changed the input.

We started with PNF stretching. You stretch the muscle, contract it against resistance for a few seconds, relax, then work the opposite side. It’s not comfortable, but it tells the nervous system it’s safe to get into these ranges of motion.

Then reverse hypers. Light weight, slow on the way down, just getting blood into the tissues. Chasing the pump & reworking the mid to muscle connection.

Then split squats to open up the front of her hips, because tight hip flexors pull on the lower back all day long.

And only then did we work the back directly. Back extensions, starting way lighter than she usually goes.

By the end she felt better than when she walked in. We were even able to add load again.

Here’s what I want you to take from this. Flare-ups happen, nobody is fully “bulletproof.” The difference between people who stay stuck and people who keep getting stronger isn’t avoiding setbacks. It’s knowing what to do the next day.
Rest hides the problem. Pain-free movement fixes it.

Save this for the next time something like this happens. And send it to your workout partner who’s always skipping the gym because of back pain. by @crunchy.ish
