One of the illest bass lines & discos greatest band.

Chic is one of the most successful and influential disco and funk bands of all time. Formed in 1976 by guitarist Nile Rodgers and bassist Bernard Edwards, the group revolutionized dance music with their sophisticated grooves, minimalist funk baselines, and razor-sharp production. Beyond their own massive hits like “Le Freak” and “Good Times,” Rodgers and Edwards worked under The Chic Organization, producing defining tracks for artists like Sister Sledge, Diana Ross, and David Bowie. Their rhythmic style laid the groundwork for early hip-hop—most famously sampled in The Sugarhill Gang’s “Rapper’s Delight”—and deeply influenced rock acts like Queen and Duran Duran. by @cry.later__

From discogs:

Grammy Award-winning American R&B, Disco and Jazz vocalist, composer, classically trained pianist, keyboards player, producer, music director, and educator. Aside from the piano, Rushen can also play numerous other instruments including the flute and the clarinet, as well as various kinds of percussion.

Born 30 September 1954 in Los Angeles, California, USA. Her signature sound can be described as a sophisticated composition of R&B, jazz, and funk styles. When she was 17, Ms. Rushen and her band won a competition that earned them a spot at the Monterey Jazz Festival, which earned her a recording contract with Prestige Records in 1973. After recording three albums and becoming an in-demand session player, with artists that included Jean-Luc Ponty, Rushen signed with Elektra Records in 1978. taken in Soul Train Studio by @cry.later__

Soul vocal group from New Jersey, U.S.
Formed as a quintet in 1962, they started recording in 1964 at Carnival Records and then at DeLuxe in the early 70’s until 1973 that got signed at Columbia where they charted their biggest hits up to 1986. Still active up until 2010. In 1970 Gerald Alston replaced their lead singer George “Smitty” Smith who had died of a brain tumour two days before his 31st birthday. Richard Taylor (17) left the group in 1976 and they continued as a quartet. In 1988 Gerald Alston left them to pursue his solo career. Their biggest hits are the classic smooth soul ballad “Kiss And Say Goodbye” produced by the prolific Bobby Martin in 1976 and “Shining Star” produced by Leo Graham in 1980. All their original members are deceased except Gerald Alston taken in Soul Train Studio by @cry.later__
