Sketchbook Scans Volume 2

Here’s the second part with pages I consider to be more horror concentrated. Most of this stuff is either vent art or oc content. Although I did add my iron lung pages for you guys.
Again if you wanna see more of my sketchbook, I post tours on my YouTube channel.

Sketchbook Scans Volume 1

thanks to everyone who voted that they wanted to see these. I’m splitting up the post into two parts. This first part is the non horror art version. If you didn’t see my story, I recently got an epson scanner so I could properly document my sketchbook. So yes, this is old artwork. Although some of it is still from this year.
I’ve been doing sketchbooks in this style for years. You can find all my sketchbook tours on my youtube channel.
Also look at me finally remembering to add a watermark to my traditional work. My sketchbooks get reposted like crazy to pinterest, which is a tragedy since I always forget my watermark.

Shapes in the Deep 2/?? | A Bloodymary x Dredge inspired comic.

ITS DONE!
Instagram is absolutely gonna nuke the quality of my lineart so I included closeups of my favorite panels at the end.
This isn’t perfect, I have many qualms about it. In fact, I plan to make a list of said qualms so I can remind myself what I need to improve on for the next part. Speaking of the next part, it’s probably gonna take longer than two weeks. I need a break from digital work and I’d really like to work in my sketchbook. I wanna work on some Halloween drawings 😤
I will give you some hints at what the next part will entail tho. I plan to introduce some new characters, so expect a doodle sheet coming. The next part will have more horror elements to it. And the diving suit will be teased in the next part as well.
I’m sorry this caption is so disorganized, but I do wanna mention that the first few parts of the story are very Simon centric. Then it turns over to be more Grace centric. And finally I will bring the two of them together. I’m saying this because unless I drastically change the plot, you guys won’t be seeing Grace again until part 7.
Let’s just say Simon must walk alone for the first part of the story.

SHOP UPDATE!
Etsy link in my bio :)

it’s been more than a year since the last update yikes. I wish there was an easy way to explain why I stopped creating for my shop. I have a lot of self-esteem problems with the art I create. I have piles of stickers that never sold a single copy. It kinda ways on a guy after a while 😅
I’m aware shipping prices are atrocious right now. I genuinely can’t do international shipping. I wish things could be cheaper. I always include freebies to make up for it. If you buy any of my new designs, I’ll include one of my old designs as freebie. I need to retire my old stuff. I do plan on remaking some of them. The skull dog is definitely on the list.
Multiple captions if you care to listen to me yap about the individual designs :)

Holo Tiger Head close up.

I had to completely redo the lineart for this one. It was a bit too wonky when flipped. So it looks a little different than the original piece.
I did not expect the holo to be this pretty. I’m definitely making more holo designs.

Zombie Head

This is probably my favorite sticker I’ve ever made. The traditional scan came out so good.

Another close up for the Zombie Head

Jellyfish!

In the future if I manage to sell all of these I will size it down because I think it’s too large.

Jellyfish closeup

Rainbow Teeth!

Again if I sell all these, I will size them up in the future. I also might experiment with a glitter laminate next time

Rainbow Teeth Closeup

Tiny Fish!

I had to include a little guy

Shapes in the Deep 1/?? | A Bloodymary x Dredge inspired comic
comic strip 1/6

And so it begins! Here’s part one of my Dredge Bloodymary comic au. I desperately need to decide on a name that’s less of a mouthful. If you want further context for this story, check out the september 7 post. The comic begins about a month before Simon’s disappearance.
Sorry it took me a while to get back to this. And i’m also sorry these aren’t my best work. It’s my first time illustrating a comic. In the making of these I realized I need way more panels per page, cause some of these look way too barren.
There won’t be a schedule for updates. I’m not confident enough that I’ll meet deadlines. Hopefully I can aim for about a week or two between each part. I’ll aim for about 6 or 8 pages per update.
You do not need to be aware of the Dredge game plot line to enjoy this comic :) It just takes place in a VERY similar universe but does not follow the Dredge plot.
Anyways multiple captions time so I can yap more.

comic strip 2/6

if this panel reads weird it’s because I messed up the full body pose and originally drew Simon get his right hand injured when it’s meant to be his left. I had to flip the drawing and move things around to make it work.
Also crab design is from the game dredge.

comic strip 3/6

I don’t wanna lie to you guys. So I’ll admit the boat is traced. I wanted Simon to have the fully upgraded boat from the game and it’s a complex design. I took screenshots from my game and I was originally just gonna use them as reference. However I didn’t want to take forever on this comic. Imma try to get better at drawing the boat without tracing. But for now, you can assume every full shot of the boat is traced. Nothing else in this comic is traced tho!

comic strip 4/6

Eel design is from the game Dredge :) It’s the Barbed Eel

Deader than the red dead sea. Promise it to me. Promise me the sea.

I don’t usually do single art posts like this so I included an extra at the end. I was gonna post this later when I had more art to share but I realized I haven’t posted in a while 😅

I got a scanner for my birthday, and I’ve been working on transforming my traditional work in clip studio. The original piece is on the 4th slide. This is my favorite scene from Iron Lung, it blew me away the first time I saw it in theaters. And I hate how the original piece looks. I wish I didn’t do line art for it 🥲 I’ve wanted to redo it for so long, and I finally did! I basically painted over it. I’m still not happy with my digital watercolor progress. My texturing looks off and too smooth to be watercolor. But overall I think I like the final result. Idk give me a couple days and I’ll probably hate it 😩

Have ya’ll ever realized I always take my sketchbook pictures at an angle? Anyways, I fixed it. This will no longer be a trait about myself. You will always get at least one straight picture 😓
Here’s a sketchbook dump. I’ve procrastinated taking these pictures for so long. Also thank you for 10k followers!

🩸Bloodymary Lighthouse AU Doodle Dumb🩸
Treating you guys to two doodle pages cause I’ve been drawing them nonstop since my last post 🥲 I’ve genuinely never drawn this much in my life. My art style may be inconsistent but idc this hyperfixation is FUELING me.
We doing multiple captions again, sorry for yapping in advance. First slide is comic closeup 1/2.

Comic closeup 2/2.
I support the coltland twins propaganda in this household 😤 Colt is calling Ryland ‘baby bro’ because he’s several minutes older. I do plan on making more comic pages for this au, I really wanna do one from Simon’s perspective on the day he went missing. I won’t have much time this week cause my birthday is on wednesday. But I promise I’m not done drawing these two! And for the people who follow me who aren’t into bloodymary, I promise to have more sketchbook content real soon. Maybe even tomorrow if I can motivate myself to take pictures

First Doodle page closeup 1/2
You’re allowed to read my notes, yes, but I warn you that I wrote them at an ungodly hour. On the third bullet point I genuinely can’t tell if I wrote LA, San Fran or CA, San Fran. For the sake of my dignity I hope it’s the latter 😓

First Doodle page closeup 2/2
If you’re wondering how Colt is gonna be able to run a aquarium while recovering from a back injury then lets just say he’s already been healing for a good majority of time

Full Image of the first doodle page. Yes, there is more after this 😅

Second Doodle page closeup 1/4
There’s a note under this that reads something like ‘let’s pretend this is before he lost his arm.’ Cause i genuinely forgot and just wanted to draw this dope pose I saw on pinterest. It reminded me of Markiplier’s boar spear, if ya know - ya know. I’ve actually been pretty good at inventing poses without reference recently but I let myself have this and I’m happy with how the movement turned out.

Second Doodle page closeup 2/4
Some watercolor practice that I’m not super proud of. Doing digital watercolor is so hard 😖 I’m determined to learn how to make stuff look like my traditional style tho

🩸SWIPE FOR FULL DOODLE SHEET 🩸
This is the most fun I’ve ever had working on a digital art piece. My coloring skills definitely have a long way to go before I’m satisfied. If I could do this again, I’d try to make him look more soaked with blood instead of flat red.
The idea for a lighthouse au for Iron Lung has been bouncing around in my head for too long. I originally wanted to make Simon a lighthouse keeper. And I still plan on incorporating that into the au but for now it’s just him in scuba gear.
Sorry if the cropping is all over the place for these 😓 Also I’m doing multiple captions for this, so enjoy me yapping about a theory at the end! Anyways speedpaint for this will be up tomorrow!

If my style looks a bit different than normal, it’s because I’m experimenting with how I draw faces.

Sketch Closeup 3/4

Sketch Closeup 4/4
Alternate versions of the first drawing. I struggled a lot with his feet.

including this cause while I was getting my references in order, I was trying to decide if I wanted the crack in his glass covering to look like. I wanted it to reference the movie and I was either going to do the pendant crack or the hull breach. Turns out they kinda parallel each other 😱 Maybe it’s not intentional but I’m willing to bet it is cause this movie is full of parallel shots. Literally my favorite thing in media is parallel moments. I go feral for them, no joke. Iron Lung is full of them. There’s Simon’s shadow, the X’s, the tree/portal, and now potentially this one!! by @cryptic_finch

imma go melt into a puddle now 🫠

Bloodymary doodles featuring Simon breaking the fourth wall cause I’ve had these silly merch ideas stuck in my brain forever.
Also the song I wanted to put with this post isn’t available on instagram 😒 it’s “We Will Commit Wolf Murder” by of Montreal. It’s the most Bloodymary song ever and it hurts me.
There may be a sketchbook dump post tomorrow 👀

these took far too long to finish 😭 I’ve been lowkey hating my art style recently, which is the main reason why I struggled so much with this. My disdain for my art most stems from how long it takes me to draw things. I so badly wanted this to be a full character sheet, but I’m still learning digital and I need to be patient with myself.
Enough of that tho- let me actually yap about the art. These are expressions for Ryland Grace and Simon. The first two Simon Expressions are him from the beginning of the Iron Lung movie, and then the second two are post Iron Lung where he’s healed and happy :D I gave him scars similar to Ava since she’s has canon depiction of how burns from the blood ocean would heal. However I did try to make them look more like roots because I love me some tree Simon. In my sketch, I included his teeth scars as a bite mark, but I couldn’t get it to look good when I was coloring. As for Grace, I just gave him his scars in the book that he got from saving Rocky. Except I’m very aware that they look different on every expression.
