Grateful I had the opportunity to attend the @ars.scientia.ubc symposium. Ars Scientia is a collaborative residency program for artists and physicists to intersect art and science. Here scientist Alannah Hallas discusses work with lab grown crystals (yes you read that right 💎), and collaborating with artist jg mair to make paint! This residency is in partnership with @belkinartgallery @ubcphas @sbqmi_at_ubc And it was set in the beautiful @ubcgarden. Assistant Professor Alannah Hallas kindly answered all my Crystal lab queries and working with artists. And though I don’t have a science background I’ve always been interested in how creative practices merge with other disciplines. Also my pics are a bit far back, staying cool in our May heatwave. 😎 #arscientia #artscience #painting #crystals #ubc #physicsandart #physics by @crystalcreativestudio
Maybe I just call this page ‘That time I went out for a walk and wasn’t feeling it’. Resistance will always get you, and staying comfortable…you know what I mean? #nature #walks #mindfulness #slowdown #dusk by @crystalcreativestudio
Morning friends - it’s Monday - a new week, day, hour, minute - we can always start over and re-pivot. The blossoms bloomed a little late this spring, I was shooting the blossom burst, thinking I couldn’t really capture just how beautiful it was and then caught this hummingbird hanging out. Humming birds will often randomly show up for me as a marker to keep going, when I’m feeling setbacks. I’ll share more another time why it will probably be part of my logo. In the meantime here is some bird sighting appreciation. #vancouver #cherryblossoms #spring #selfcare #walks #nature #energyhealing #energymedicine #grounding #sakurablossoms #birdwatching #slowdown #rest #selfcompassion #walkingmeditation #vagusnerve #nervoussystem #hikes #communitycare #hummingbird #healingenergy #mindfulmonday #animalcommunication by @crystalcreativestudio
So. Let’s talk synchronicities, they happen to all of us anywhere at anytime. The sun is finally out and this morning I went on an early morning walk, checked my local library exchange and opened this chapter ‘Awakening through Livelihood, Stress and Time’ As some know I’m currently wrapping my participation in the YMCA Self-Employment Program and implementing an Energy Healing Practice. I thought the chapter title spoke to where I’m at and where I’m going. The uni is always listening, right? Sitting in the unknown is tricky, but it doesn’t mean we still can’t have a practice in grounding and coming back to what’s important, things will always be in flux just like nature. Just as I was taking this picture, the tiniest dog barked from behind and the pet guardian said ‘She just wants your attention’. Leave it to me for animals wanting to have a chat. Anyway, it’s almost the weekend and it’s going to be 😎 Book credit: ‘Stepping out of self-deception: The Buddha’s liberating teaching of no-self’ by Rodney Smith #vancouver #spring #selfcare #walks #nature #energyhealing #energymedicine #grounding #slowdown #rest #selfcompassion #walkingmeditation #vagusnerve #nervoussystem #hikes #communitycare #nervoussystemregulation #groundingtechniques #energyhealingpractitioner #selfcaretips #chronicpain #migraine #synchronicity #hsp #neurodiversity #highlysensitiveperson #intuition #animalcommunication by @crystalcreativestudio
Sometimes I don’t always follow my own advice and get outside and that’s okay, because you make up for it and make a lady bug friend 🐞 #vancouver #spring #selfcare #walks #nature #energyhealing #energymedicine #grounding #slowdown #rest #selfcompassion #walkingmeditation #vagusnerve #nervoussystem #hikes #communitycare #nervoussystemregulation #groundingtechniques #energyhealingpractitioner #selfcaretips #chronicpain #migraine #hsp #neurodiversity #highlysensitiveperson #mindfulness by @crystalcreativestudio
Morning friends - First off doesn’t this tree remind you of a throne that would be in a She-Ra Princess of Power type situation? Scroll to the next vid for the nice raindrop sounds… Listen - it’s been rain city - we live in a rainforest and it’s those times to get outside. I wound up in a few conversations last week around self care, energy management and how to consciously bring that back in with small actions. Last week I was on hold navigating some bureaucratic stuff and going around in circles. That’s when you know it’s time to recalibrate, grab a walk buddy and let nature support you. It’s Monday so here’s your reminder to check-in with the trees, they are always there ready to listen. #vancouver #spring #selfcare #walks #nature #energyhealing #energymedicine #grounding #slowdown #rest #selfcompassion #walkingmeditation #vagusnerve #nervoussystem #hikes #communitycare #nervoussystemregulation #groundingtechniques #energyhealingpractitioner #selfcaretips #chronicpain #migraine #mindfulmonday #hsp #neurodiversity #highlysensitiveperson #forest #forestbathing #rain #rainforest by @crystalcreativestudio
Walk for my mental health yesterday. When feeling a bit crispy from being at the desk or trouble shooting admin things on a screen…get that walk in, even if it’s around the block. Different sounds, wind on face, observation of seasons changing can bring in a small moment of clarity and grounded space. #vancouver #cherryblossoms #spring #selfcare #walks #nature #energyhealing #energymedicine #grounding #sakurablossoms #birdwatching #slowdown #rest #selfcompassion #walkingmeditation #vagusnerve #nervoussystem #hikes #communitycare #nervoussystemregulation #groundingtechniques #energyhealingpractitioner #vancouverblossoms #selfcaretips #chronicpain #migraine #mindfulmonday #hsp #neurodiversity #highlysensitiveperson by @crystalcreativestudio
