Event Coverage: April Graduations 2026 🎓💫

Love was in the air. More accurately, a sharp pang of it upon the nose as bouquets of roses, peonies, and hyacinths streamed in, held by graduates clad in forget-me-not blue sashes and sharp black gowns. They had the disposition of runners who had crossed the finishing line, smiles triumphant and the adrenaline of the sprint not forgotten. The years of tireless work were behind them, degree in hand, graduation cap long-tossed into the air.

The graduates of 2026 descended the stairs and entered the hall in streams, swarmed by their families. The hall was warmly lit, soft jazz music playing in the distance, and golden arches casting a dream-like glow about the room. Except that the dream was over, or more so, it had come true.

How far of an extent would art be considered morally right? At what point do one’s passion or curiosity register as violence? Obscura portrays this conundrum in an ambitious, 2-weeks long project, showcasing the reality that’s often overlooked in the artistic culture.

Event Coverage: Monash Cultural Night 💃🏻🥋✨

"Monash Cultural Night, MUISS’s flagship event, was held on 12th October 2025, the night many international students had been anticipating all year, unfolding in the TSR Conference Hall bathed in blue. Not the calming, meditative blue of a wellness app no one opens after Week 3, but a curated, cinematic shade that made shadows linger and corners feel unexpectedly alive. The photobooth, unsurprisingly, was packed, leaving some students without a single commemorative photo, though it hardly mattered. The lively buzz of the hall made MCN feel like its own little universe, a Schrödinger’s cat of student events: at once familiar and unpredictable, comforting and electric…”
