I am incredibly proud of our little company. Ava and I have worked so hard to bring joy and love to every single opportunity we are given, big or small. I hope that each person that has hired us has felt seen and loved by us both. At the beginning of the year I told Ava one of my bigger goals for Sorella Sorella was to get one sorority house to let us install balloons. We had the opportunity to work with ChiO during work week and for a few other events and it was amazing and hard work, but I really wanted to show what we could do with balloons. And today all of our hard work and persistence paid off. We were able to do our biggest install yet for ChiO’s Big Little Day. It was hot and sweaty and balloons don’t like heat, but it was one of the best days! To see our vision come to life fills my heart. The Lord blessed us big today and I will be forever grateful. 💖

Today is my girls day! 🎉💖🌈

She is all the things I could ask for in a best friend. She loves all of me. She has the voice of an angel. She is a fantastic wife and mom. She cheers for my kids and prays for my family. She is the best Youth Pastor and an incredible Worship Pastor. She wears a million and one hats, but my favorite is watching her serve God’s people and loving them with all she has.

Alison works tirelessly for her people and still manages to look as good as she does! She continues to point me to the Lord and fills my cup. I love for our bestie breakfasts and the time we get to spend together. I love you so much, Alison Marie! I hope this year brings you so much joy and all the love you deserve. Today is Emily’s Day! She is one of my most favorite people. She is someone I can count on no matter what! She is one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. She shares my emotions on all levels, she will feel all the joy for me when I’m happy and she will cut someone if they hurt me. She is quick to tell me to put on my big girl pants and get over myself, but says it in a way that doesn’t hurt my little feelings, because she knows this enneagram two needs a little sass, but nicely. I talk to her everyday and when school start and Albert finally gets out of my way, I’ll be on her couch while she does her chores. I just need her presence and I’m good to go! It’s super special when your best friend’s daughter is the same age as yours and even more special when they are also besties! MJ and the girls celebrated Lyla Jane last night and they had a blast! The more years he has been gone the harder it is to find a photo I haven’t used. Today my dad would have been 80 years old! He probably would have hated it because he didn’t like getting old. He always closed out our birthday celebration for the boys and I know he loved that he shared his birthday month with Nick.

My baby boy is 20! 🎉

Nick has always been one of those kids who makes parenting look easier than it actually is. He’s kind, loves Jesus, serves others without being asked, and somehow manages to be a genuinely good human being. I’m still not entirely sure where he got that, but I’m grateful for it.

He can play the guitar, sing beautifully, and lead worship in a way that makes people feel closer to God. He loves serving others, loves his family, and is a great brother. He’s the kind of person you hope your kids will become and then somehow he actually did.

He’s also one of my favorite people to be around. He keeps us laughing, gives great hugs, and somehow still puts up with his family even though we’re all a little much.

Nick, watching you grow into the man you are has been one of the greatest joys of my life. You make us proud every single day. Not because of what you do, but because of who you are.

Happy 20th birthday to the kid who made parenting feel less like survival and more like a blessing.

This was a fun surprise we found at the bottom of a bag full of memories from the attic!

After talking to me on the phone for a week 22 years ago, Cory called the local flower shop to send me flowers. He didn’t know my last name, just that I worked at my dad’s carpet store. 🫶🏼 by @crystalortega
