@thekudoskid I simply have to mention the inherent blackness in this line, The Crown 👑.

To wear an afro while wearing articles from this line felt like being part of cultural history, in a time where we may have had to fight to be seen as royalty or to have our own resorts, of resilience and relaxation.

The strands of love that sustain our communities.

Wigs are valid, wigs are amazing, I wore a wig each time I walked the runway and it truly pulled the outfit together. Yet... Yet any time I wear my hair in a style which hides my texture for too long, such as faux locs, I yearn for my hair beneath.

For it's softness, strength, color. I miss everything about it.

This line reminds me of that inherent connection to our hair.

@syrschevuillione The afro wig. The afro wig calls to what I can and aspire to be as I grow into my hair, building towards something just as if not more amazing.

I felt strong, seen, and large enough to make an impact. My fists were primarily closed to symbolise BLM✊🏾, as our beautiful country holds us in majority and yet most still hold internalized colonial ideologies we are better served letting go. 🖤👩🏾‍🦱🪮

That long, elegant kaftan captured my heart the moment I saw the patterns, how it glides through the air at the slightest movement, the instant relaxation and sensations of sunbathing on one of our beaches.

Something to slip off before running into the water, or dipping into the pool with pants and necklace.

Stunning.

@syrschevuillione And yet again the wig came from the top rope with an absolutely stunning appearance. I'll be wearing them many more times in the future.

@my_art_is_my_home rainnnn, thank you. Your line, ☀️The Golden Brown Collection: Rebirth of the Sun☀️, brought me onto the stage with a bang💥 of androgyny, royalty, mystique, feminity and power.

It felt like it was meant to be, to start the event with the closest representation of how I try to portray myself in day to day life and elevate that sensation, those emotions.

@syrschevuillione I can't repeat this enough but without your wig I would've been unable to put forth the desired image. You've also played such a massive part in making this at all possible & I hope to see you make many many more.
