I created this piece because I couldn’t not create it.

Right now, there is so much happening around us. So much fear, uncertainty, separation, and grief. And as an artist, I’ve been thinking about what our bodies hold when we experience moments like this.

That became The Body Remembers.

A piece about what we carry. What we witness. What we survive. What we refuse to forget.

I’m honored to have this work included alongside other artists responding to this moment through their own perspectives and experiences.

Happy Sweet 16th Anniversary!! 🥂✨

Wow, it’s crazy to believe we’re celebrating 16 years of marriage. Through all of life’s challenges, I’ve continued to choose you and choose us. I pray that God touches our marriage and blesses us with love, growth, and joy. May we always remember why we chose each other in the first place.

This summer, I had the opportunity to pour into young people through Freedom School, ARTS Us and WE WIN Institute. 🎨🤎

And honestly, moments like these remind me why I do what I do.

God has allowed me to chase my dreams as an artist, and in return, I want to use what He’s given me to create space for others to discover who they are.

I love working with youth. I love watching them create without fear, try something new, find their voice, and realize that what they have to say matters.

I want to help build confidence in who you are, encourage you to trust your creativity, and remind you that your story is worth telling.

This part of my work keeps me up at night in the best way. Because I’m not just an artist. I want to impact people through my art, through my story, and through the spaces I create.

I want to help pave the way for future artists. I want young people to see that there is room for their creativity, their ideas, their stories, and their dreams.

I’ll never stop telling my story. I’ll never stop creating.

But right now, this part feels especially important.

Community. Connection. Creativity. Impact.

Art has always been a place for me to process, reconnect, and begin again. Art of Renewal is an invitation to do just that, to slow down, create, reflect, express ourselves, and make space for whatever season of life we’re in.

My heart is so heavy… yesterday my beautiful friend Melodee got her wings. 💔

She fought cancer with so much strength, grace, and courage. I truly believed she would win this battle, but God had other plans. I’m still trying to process this because some people just feel like they are meant to be here forever… and she was one of those people.

She was my friend, my mentor, a gifted artist, an incredible mother, and one of the most beautiful souls I’ve ever had the honor of knowing.

Some of my favorite memories are creating alongside her… assisting her on murals, laughing, learning, and soaking up every bit of wisdom I could. She was so talented, but what stood out even more was her heart. The way she loved, the way she showed up, and the way she poured into the people around her.

Her artwork is woven into the fabric of this city. She left color, stories, and pieces of herself in spaces that will continue to inspire people for years to come. What a gift it is to leave a mark that lives beyond you!

I’m so grateful God allowed our paths to cross. I’ll forever carry the laughs, the lessons, the creativity, and the love she gave so freely.

Fragments Reimagined confronts the realities of gun violence while creating space for reflection, healing, dialogue, and action. The work in this exhibition is powerful, personal, and necessary, reminding us that behind every statistic are real people, families, and communities forever changed.

If you missed the opening reception, I encourage you to make time. Support the artists. Engage with the stories. Sit with the questions. These conversations matter.

A special thank you to Nikki @art_is_myweapon_ for the vision, dedication, and countless hours of work it took to bring this exhibition to life and to keep the issue of gun violence at the forefront. There is a difference between talking about change and doing the work required to create it, and her commitment continues to make space for both awareness and action.

Last weekend was beautiful! ♥️

So grateful to @shaylareavestv for inviting me to be part of her My Daddy’s Crescent Smile book launch and trusting me to help bring the Healing HeARTs Reflection Wall to life with @art_is_myweapon_ . Watching people slow down, create, reflect, smile, and pour their hearts onto the canvases reminded me why this work matters so much to me.

So many meaningful messages were shared. So many big smiles. So many moments of connection, reflection, and community throughout the day. Creativity really does give people somewhere to place what they’re carrying.

On Monday, our family lost our home in a fire. We barely made it out and had to escape through a window. Thank God we are safe.

Everything else is gone and we are now starting over.

This is not easy for me to share, but I’ve created a GoFundMe. If you feel led to support or even just share, it would mean so much to us right now.

Had a beautiful time leading a community response workshop with the staff at @v3_sports

We created space to pause, reflect, and express through art. I set up three creative stations - dot art for grounding and focus, collage art that tapped into nostalgia and memory, and affirmation art centered around intention and self reflection.

Together we slowed down and used art as a way to express what’s often hard to put into words. I truly believe creativity can open doors for connection, healing, and deeper understanding in community.
