System: The Curse of the House of Rookwood

Long ago, a member of the Rookwood family made a deal with a demonic force. This pact granted the ancestor great power but also inflicted a terrible curse on the Rookwood bloodline. This is your family, we face your generation, and how your story will repeat, or disrupt, itself.

As we gather we will create a generation of the Rookwood family. For example this can include a moody teenage daughter, rebellious son, stern spinster aunt, drunken bachelor uncle, a dottering grandfather, domineering mother, unemotional father, absent-minded grandmother, cavalier sister, flighty brother, or a wastrel cousin. You will each have a curse and a gift, that can physically and emotionally alter you. A Level 5 horror-comedy one-shot inspired by CHOPPING MALL (1986).

You and your pals work at the Stargrove Shopping Center, and tonight you’re taking advantage of the perks. The plan: clock out, raid the food court, crank the music, and throw a bitchin’ after-hours party.

BUT THEN…

A storm rolls in. The lights flicker. All the security gates slam shut at once. At first, it seems like a power outage in the new state-of-the-art security system…

Then something starts moving through the mall.

Now your favorite hangout has become a neon deathtrap.

The first thing you feel is that Old North Wind blowing through your…branches? Or are those your arms? You remember being lost deep in the woods and following the sound of singing and the flicker of lamplight, hoping for a friendly woodsman who could help find your way. Did you fall asleep? How long have you slumbered here in this glade? And why are there others here who look just as confused as you do? Why does your mouth taste like oil? …And why is a tree branch growing out of that bassoon-playing frog’s head?

In this Over the Garden Wall-inspired adventure, explore The Unknown as a lil skeleton guy in a pumpkin suit, a dog with beautiful eyes, a highwayman who makes ends meet, an eccentric tea millionaire with a too-old cat, and more! Please note: this game will be fun and accessible to fans and non-fans alike. If you like your October horror with absurdist-old-timey-twisted-fairytale vibes with an excess of weird little guys, this one’s for you!

A Lich has come to town. Death is on the table. Back up characters will be at the ready. Need we say more?

…Ok, we will say more. Play as traveling merchant adventures who stop at an inn for the night to look over the new magical items they’ve recently acquired. Somehow a Lich has entered the game and you will be hunted. If you die, a backup character will be provided, or you can play as your undead character on the side of the Lich and bring down your adventurer companions in some PVP.

A mysterious blight started damaging the crops in the township of Applesauce Crossing. Desperate townsfolk invited you- the heroes- to investigate and stop the blight to save the upcoming Harvest Festival. The game is written in comedic tone with sinister elements. All players will be provided a supplementary apple for better immersion.
