I am extremely happy to share that I have won 1st Runner up award in "Wildlife" Category in a photography contest on 6th Oct, 2024.

The contest was held by InVogue Life (Lifestyle) Magazine on account of its first anniversary and release of its Volume 2 issue (Photography Special Edition) at Museo Camera, Centre for the Photographic Arts, Gurgaon.

Received the award from the respected Grand Jury @2akashdas Akash Das Sir. My picture was exhibited at the event along with all the final selected photographs of other photographers, also have been featured in the magazine in its latest edition.

This special edition of magazine contains amazing, detailed, very informative articles and stunning photographs on Nature and Wildlife by Senior and experienced Nature and Wildlife Photographers and Jury members for the photography contest. This picture was shot at Amboseli National Park, Kenya in a low light conditions on an evening game drive. The Mighty Mount Kilimanjaro is at the backdrop at a distance. I have used Sony's wide angle lens 16-35mm for this shot, probably this was the only opportunity where I used this lens from the entire tour.

Thank you my both the mentors @harsha_narasimhamurthy for suggesting to change the lens quickly and take the shot from the wide angle lens and @trikansh_sharma guiding through this tour 🙏

Late Post but felt to share, as this has been something so special to me being my first award.

Over thousands of stunning artworks including photographs, paintings and sculptures were submitted for Safarnama 2 Visual Art Exhibition at The Stainless Gallery, New Delhi (2nd- 5th Nov'2023) organised by COG India Art Foundation and from those around 200 plus artwork were chosen to be exhibited. Four of my photographs were also got selected and showcased at this grand exhibition.

The event was inaugurated by respected Sh. K Satish Nambudiripad, Director General, Information and Broadcasting Bureau, Government of India & Dr. Amitava Majumdar, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Grantwood Technology LLC.

It was so inspiring to witness such creative minds around and see eachother's work and admire them.

I had won the "Golden Award" under the Wildlife Category ❤️

My heartfelt gratitude to @cogindia.art for such a huge recognition and award 🙏.

Being one of the finalists for this prestigious award amongst all the fellow super talented wildlife photographers and all the winners, was surely an overwhelming experience for me.

The sessions on "Birding in Tiger Land" and "Valuing Carbon in Age of Climate Crisis" as well as the short films by Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh Tourism were amazing.

A pair of common ostriches 💕

They are the biggest,completely flightless and heaviest living bird species on earth with adults reaching up to 2.8 meters (9 feet) in height and are built for high-speed running.

Males have bold black-and-white body feathers with bright pink or red bare skin on their neck and legs (especially vibrant during the breeding season), while females are smaller with earthy gray-brown plumage.

Gee's golden langur is an Old world monkey found in a small region of Western Assam and the neighboring foothills of the Black Mountains of Bhutan.

Long considered sacred by many Himalayan people, the golden langur was first brought to the attention of the Western world by the naturalist Edward Pritchard Gee in the 1950s. Adult males have a cream to golden coat with darker flanks while the females and juveniles are lighter.

The golden langur has a black face and a long tail up to 100 cm (39 in) in length. It lives in high trees and has a herbivorous diet of fruits, leaves, seeds, buds, and flowers.

It is one of the most endangered primate species of India and Bhutan as per Red list of IUCN.

After doing all the monkey business in the early morning, jumping all around in the high canopies and bushes, pulling each other's tails, this one finally decided to take a break and some breath and that's when I clicked this picture testing my arm's strength, it was difficult to wait and get a clean picture through all the bushes.

1:1 connect with Tigress Bubli's handsome sub adult!

While he was lazily enjoying the pool time along with his brother in a hot summer noon in the manmade water body by forest department, the energetic sister was roaming around nearby inside the bushes!

This pose reminded me of our old childhood times when we used to be clicked in the photo studio obeying the photographer and not moving even an inch till the click :)
