If you’ve been looking into becoming a surrogate, you’ve probably seen the big numbers advertised by other agencies: “Earn up to $125K+.”

What they don’t always make obvious is that those headlines are often stacking a much lower base fee with bonuses that only apply in certain, sometimes rare situations. They also often include reimbursements for things like lost wages, travel, and medical bills in the earnings figure.

At CSED, we think transparency matters. This journey asks so much of you, and the relationship shouldn’t start with a big headline that doesn’t match what you’ll actually receive. You deserve clarity from day one.

That’s why we lead with the number most first-time surrogates with approved insurance actually receive: $73,000.

That includes a $68,000 base, a $300 monthly allowance (about $3,600 over 12 months), a maternity clothing stipend, and late-pregnancy household support. If we need to purchase qualifying health insurance, the base is $63,000 and the typical total is about $68,000.

Medical, travel, legal costs, and lost wages are covered separately. We don’t fold those into the headline to make the offer look bigger than it is.
