Today I visited Adelbooks & More, a used bookstore in Middletown 📚

They had a wonderful array of gently used books for a very good price. I ended up buying The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo for an upcoming book swap and some books for my daughters. I really appreciated how organized and clean the store was. Sometimes used bookstores can be messy and it can be hard to find things, that’s not the case here. I also loved their collection of items for sale by local vendors. There were so many goodies ☕️

What really makes this store special is the people who work there! Neurodiverse students from the Ädelbrook Transitional Academy help run the store. I love that the store gives them a space to get hands-on job experience. Next door is the Adelbrook Bark-ery where you can get dog treats 🐶 I highly recommend that you stop by and support these wonderful stores! I recently visited the Lucy Robbins Welles Library in Newington. I was impressed by the number of computers they had available and the quiet study area looked so cozy. There’s a lot of spots to get some work done 💻

My favorite place of course was the Children’s Department! There have a great array of books and toys. My toddler absolutely loves coming here to play 🧸

They’re having a book sale Oct. 16-18! I always find some of the best books at library book sales 📚

✨comfort read✨

The lighting was a paid actor in the first pic bc cmon 💁‍♀️👻

Anyway, I felt myself getting into a slump and I WANT to read, it’s cozy reading season after all…so I picked up where I left off with my friends in Velaris and I think reading silver flames right now is *chefs kiss*👌This account will always be a Nesta Stan and I will accept nothing else💁‍♀️ also can we talk about how All Too Well is like cassian’s song to Nesta for the first 7499274929 pages of this book🤣

In addition to a reading slump, this week has been particularly hard as a SAHM with a lil man with molars coming in iykyk🥴so it was a mommy & baby date at @thewickedpress for us for a pumpkin chai latte (for me, DEF not for baby). Definitely one of the coziest and most relaxing places for us during the day🤗

𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗘 📚

My husband and I went to the Big E yesterday! Besides all of the yummy food, I love checking out the booths.

Here are some of the bookish items I found:
- discarded books turned into journals 🖊️
- book earrings & magnets
- hanging book shelves 📖
- book purses
- Harry Potter items & wands 🪄
- book art
- multiple places had blind dates with a book 💕
- book nooks

I love Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland so I had to grab myself the purse! It’s so cute and the inside is a lot bigger than I expected.

Paul Tremblay Book Event:

Another wonderful time was had at the Eastford public library.
I love the ladies at this library and everything they do for events and Jodi for getting great authors to come visit her little corner of Ct.
I've met Paul a few times and he is easily one of my favorite horror authors.
I can't wait to read his latest book which takes on Ai, it sounds like it's going to be a great read.

Today I visited @folkloreandfablebooks in Colchester, CT 📚 Book shopping is the perfect rainy day activity 🌧️

This is an adorable bookstore. I loved all of the displays and merch. My favorite were the hats. I was so tempted to buy the I 🩷sports (romance) one 🏒 They also have a local vendor spotlight. If you’re looking for a new book or a gift for a booklover this is the place!

They have a paperback club. If you buy 9 paperback books you get 1 free. I got my stamp card today after I bought The Fall Affair by Vi Keeland 🍂

Come with me to visit one of my favorite places @bookbarnniantic 📚 I could (and did) spend hours here getting lost amongst the books 📖 I never have a game plan when I go here, I let the books speak to me 😂 Let’s just say that the books were yelling and I bought way more than I anticipated. Next week I’ll post the other 2 locations and my book haul 💕
