Bear with me for a long post-
Yesterday, September 6, was the 30th anniversary of the day Dave and I got married. I am always grateful for the signs that we witness and I look for them all the time. Sometimes though I miss them even when they are right in front of me!

The weekend before we celebrated Dave’s parents’ 70th anniversary which was September 1. At the party our wedding song was played and Dave’s parents danced to it. It is not a song that you hear often. I had to leave the room. Honestly, at the time, I was both mad and sad that no one realized it was our song…

Fast forward a week. I am so thankful for my friend Annette. Unfortunately Annette also knows the pain of losing the love of her life too soon, her husband Mike. I told her what happened and she understood my heartache. She sent me this note which showed me the 30th anniversary gift from Dave that I had missed.

“Maura!!! I was listening to Spotify today and before I pushed Happy songs to play I saw your wedding song as one of the songs I listened to in the past (i listened to it the other day because I had no idea what the song was when you mentioned it to me) ANYWAY a thought randomly popped into my head that Dave was with you at that party. Of all the millions of songs they could have played someone chose your wedding song and that my friend is not a coincidence but a sign from Dave to you ❤️ A very wise person once told me to look for signs. You shared with me you were overwhelmed about some things and although I don’t know what they are/were I do know that Dave was letting you know he is with you 🥰”

So happy anniversary Dave and thank you for the gift of sending me our wedding song the week before what would have been our 30th wedding anniversary when I never hear it unless I choose to play it. Thank you for finding special people to send messages to me when I need to hear them and keep sending signs even if I take a while to see them. I am so grateful for our marriage and the family we created. ❤️ I miss you and love you.
