Albert Gyorgy's sculpture, Melancholy, depicts the feeling of grief as a large hole in the center of a person, and is said to capture the void left behind by loss.

This is a profound symbol of pain, hopelessness and isolation of grief. The body is so impacted by loss, as if a huge part of them has been blown away, and their body is experiencing a wide mouth scream.

They're still alive, but a huge part of them is missing.

And yet, the body is still connected and figuring out how to recover and move on. There's a desire to heal, and wondering how to heal, but a deep emptiness after the loss.

Whatever struggle you're going through, I'm sure you understand the impact it has on your body and being.
