We stepped into a focused session with L.A.rry L.A.vell and Young Keefa as the two worked through new material for Keefa’s upcoming EP under Potency Music Entertainment.

The environment was intentional from start to finish, with both artist and producer refining the record in real time and prioritizing feel over speed. One title continued to surface throughout the session, “Sport Mode,” a track that already carries a strong sense of direction and energy.

From what we heard, the record is structured to translate beyond the studio, balancing clarity with momentum in a way that positions it well for release.

While much of the project remains under wraps, the session offered an early look into what’s shaping up behind the scenes.

Understanding sound at a technical level changes how decisions are made, shifting the work from "preference" to structure, experience, and intent.

When you understand the science behind sound, your decisions come from structure, not reaction. You know why something works, when it works, and when it does not. That understanding creates consistency, and consistency is what serious projects require.

Engineering is about accountability to the process and to the final outcome. The work has to translate outside the room, across systems, and long after the session ends. That approach aligns with how professionally structured productions are governed under frameworks such as the HITS Act.

That level of discipline is one of the reasons labels and artists trust me with their projects. Longevity in this business comes from repeatable results, not moments.
