🦈 - 𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐊𝐒 - 🦈

Now on exhibit at the Connecticut Science Center is “SHARKS”! This traveling exhibit first premiered at the American Museum of Natural History in NYC in late 2001. The exhibit plunges guests into the hidden world of one of the planet’s oldest and most captivating creatures. Visitors of all ages are invited to explore a realm where massive predators glide silently, senses extend beyond human perception, and survival has been refined over hundreds of millions of years. The exhibit features dozens of life-sized models, ancient fossils, immersive media, and engaging interactive experiences. From the massive prehistoric megalodon to the tiny dwarf lanternshark that glows in the dark, you will discover the incredible diversity of sharks and their relatives.

Opened in June 2009, the Connecticut Science Center’s mission is to inspire lifelong learning through interactive and innovative experiences that explore our changing world through science. Some of the permanent exhibits on display include “Exploring Space”, “Butterfly Encounter”, “Forces in Motion”, the “Engineering Lab”, “Energy City”, “Our Changing Earth”, “River of Life”, and “Kidspace”.

My family and I visited “SHARKS” at the American Museum of Natural History back in 2023, and we were so excited to see it again. The highlight for us was the scale model of the prehistoric Megalodon. Thank goodness that these massive sharks aren’t roaming the oceans anymore. “SHARKS” will be on display at the Connecticut Science Center until the end of 2026.

The Connecticut Science Center just gave us another reason to visit this summer.

Their new KidSpace Outdoors is officially open and it’s such a great addition for younger kids. It’s an outdoor nature-inspired playscape where they can climb, explore, and play before heading inside.

Once you’re in, don’t miss the Sharks exhibit. Between the life-sized sharks, interactive exhibits, and the giant megalodon, my kids were completely into it.

If you’re planning a visit, try to go during Shark Week (July 26–August 1) when they’ll have themed activities and special programming happening throughout the Science Center.

Definitely one of those places you can spend an entire day and everyone leaves having learned something new. 🦈💙 @ctsciencecenter by @ctsciencecenter
