Honoured to be one of the nine organizations implementing Canada Fund for Local Initiatives projects for 2026-2027. 🇨🇦🇯🇲

This week, Cari-Trans Support Group Jamaica attended the CFLI Project Launch, shared its impact statement, and connected with the High Commissioner and the CFLI team. The project will provide trans masculine and gender-diverse Jamaicans with legal documentation support, access to education, employment, skills development, and gender-affirming support, and produce a documentary in community voices.

“Because of this project, next year, our community will be more visible, more protected, and more independent than ever before.”

-Glynn-Devon Bryan

Cari-Trans is deeply grateful for Canada’s partnership in this work @canadajamaica

WE WHO LIVE HERE - Part I

Cari-Trans is proud to launch this new community-based project grounded in Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago.

Developed through the Pleasure Fellowship, this work is led by our Founder & Executive Director, Glynn-Devon Bryan, and responds to gaps in how the lives of trans masculine people, masculine-presenting lesbians, and gender-diverse people are understood and represented.

Following an initial information session, the project now moves toward a roundtable to deepen discussion and inform advocacy.

We’re creating space to explore:
– Pleasure
– Embodiment
– Body autonomy
– Desire, safety, and lived experience

This work also addresses the spaces we don’t always share within our own communities, despite often fighting for the same rights and recognition.

Through animation, documentation, and the development of a practical toolkit, this project contributes to storytelling, knowledge-building, and future community-focused approaches across the region.

“This project is deeply personal for me. Our lives are often reduced to survival, while the fullness of our experiences are overlooked. If we cannot hold space for each other, we cannot expect others to do the same for us.”

- Glynn-Devon Bryan

LAVA TALKS continues with Glynn-Devon Bryan @__bipovibez . I met Glynn-Devon earlier this year, and his swagger, his voice and his beauty drew me to him instantly. A Jamaican trans man, he brings to MASCULINITY a deeply personal perspective—sharing his story, his journey, and what it means to claim and define manhood for himself.

This is exactly what LAVA TALKS is about: different men, different lives, different relationships with masculinity—and no demand that any one voice speak for everyone. Listen to Glynn-Devon. Sit with his perspective. Join the conversation. Two more voices to share before we close VOL. I NO. 1: MASCULINITY and move into our next topic. #LavaTalks #Masculinity #AdexLava by @ctsg_ja

WE WHO LIVE HERE - Part 1 of 2.

This is the first half of the conversation.

Trans masculine, masculine-presenting, and gender-diverse people in the Caribbean, sitting together, speaking freely, and redefining what pleasure means beyond survival.

We may be different in many ways, but we share the same struggles, the same joys, and the same need to be seen.

This is just one piece of our ongoing documentary project. Soon, you will get to sit with us individually, one-on-one, deeper, more personal. But for now, this is community.

Thank you to The Pleasure Project @the_pleasureproject for making this work possible. Additional support from CVC @cvccoalition And a special thank you to my co-director, Chelsea, for helping bring this to life.

And to every participant who trusted us with your voice, thank you. This project exists because of you.

Part 2 drops soon. The conversation continues.

WE WHO LIVE HERE: REDEFINING PLEASURE IN YHE CARIBBEAN- THE TRAILER.

We promised and now we deliver!

This project started with a question: What does pleasure mean to trans masculine, masculine-presenting, and gender-diverse people in the Caribbean, beyond survival?

Through the Pleasure Fellowship, I learned that pleasure is not just about sex, it is about body autonomy, safety, connection, and the freedom to exist without apology.

This trailer is a first look at our roundtable series, real conversations between real people. Some of us are trans men. Some are masculine-presenting lesbians. Some are non-binary or gender-diverse. We may be different in many ways, but we share a lot of the same struggles, the same joys, and the same desire to be seen.

We are stronger as a unit.

This is part one of a larger archive, the documentary is coming. But for now, this is what community sounds like when we stop performing and start speaking.

Thank you to The Pleasure Project for the fellowship and support @the_pleasureproject. Thank you to CVC @cvccoalition for helping us to make this possible. Much love to all participants who shared their stories and community for your support.

Watch. Share. Let them know we are here.

COMING SOON IN AUGUST!
