I am deeply humbled and truly honored to receive the prestigious Leon Goldman Memorial Award from the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS). This recognition holds special meaning to me, not only for the incredible legacy it represents but also because of the mentors who have shaped my career.

Dr. Leon Goldman’s groundbreaking work in laser medicine has been a guiding light for so many in our field, and to be recognized with an award that bears his name is a profound privilege. His contributions to dermatology and laser science were not only innovative but visionary, and they continue to inspire all of us working in this space today.

To receive this award is particularly meaningful, as I am following in the footsteps of many of my own mentors, who were also past recipients of this honor. Their guidance, wisdom, and unwavering support have been invaluable in my journey. I owe so much of my progress and passion for dermatology to the dedication and mentorship they provided me, and it is truly humbling to be part of this esteemed lineage of innovators.

This award is a testament not just to individual achievement, but to the collaborative spirit that drives our field forward. I am grateful to my colleagues, patients, staff, and mentors for helping me to continually push the boundaries of what we can achieve in laser medicine. It is my hope to continue advancing the legacy of Dr. Goldman and contribute meaningfully to the future of dermatology and laser treatments.

Thank you to ASLMS and everyone who has been a part of this incredible journey.

This patient had this "red spot" for years and now wants it gone.

This is a spider angioma, a small collection of dilated blood vessels. While we can get rid of it with a laser, it is perfectly fine to leave it alone as well.

Here we’re using the DermaV laser to specifically target those vessels and improve the appearance of the spot. It can take mroe than one treatment but many times we do luck out with just one treatment. by @ctskindoc

Ever notice a small red spot that just won’t go away? It could be an angioma. These are harmless but bothersome and the PDL laser is one of the best tools we have to treat them. The laser targets blood vessels beneath the skin, causing the spot to fade over time. You might see some temporary purpling right after and that means it’s working! It can take 1-3 treatments but many times it goes away with just one. These are benign so completely fine to leave alone as well! by @ctskindoc

The shoemaker’s kids are real...I work in this man’s office and still had to beg for 5 years 😂 Grateful for my favorite (and I’m sure his most annoying 😬) patient-wife moment yet

Finally joined Omar at a dermatology conference after nearly ten years, and what a full-circle moment it was. 🤍 Seeing the friends who started out with him...who were all in those early stages of building their careers and now at the very top of their field is something truly special. And Omar himself… I think back to when I used to travel with him and he was just starting out, and now he is genuinely one of the most accomplished and well-known names in the room. That transition, that growth and I could not be more proud. 💙

So so proud of @mariwalladermatology for putting together the BEST meeting. So proud of you Madam President!!

On a completely unrelated note, Zara would like to formally announce that she spent the last ten days parentless. It was three days. I told her it would be one. She has not forgotten, she has not forgiven, and she wants everyone to know. 😂 by @ctskindoc

Incredible day one yesterday in Savannah! Honored to have co-chaired the first-ever iASLMS session at the 2026 ASLMS meeting today alongside @dr_gilly

We spent four hours learning from world-renowned experts who traveled from across the globe to share their groundbreaking work. The session was capped off by keynote lectures from @dr.fernanda_sakamoto on her work leading to the development of the first selective laser to treat active acne and Dr. Rox Anderson who spoke on the future of lasers and energy based devices. A huge thank you to our speakers and to @aslmsmeeting for supporting this global exchange of knowledge.

I will be serving as President of this organization at the conclusion of this meeting. What a great start to the premier meeting for innovation in lasers and energy based devices.
