Cedarville community:

We would like to share some information about our upcoming fire renewal levy, Issue 15, and ask for your support. Issue 15 is a 1 mil replacement levy for fire department operations and capital. It will cost approximately $22.00 a year for the owner of a $100,000 home and generate just under $90,000 annually. Our mission is to provide our residents and guests with timely efficient response and high quality care. The fire department operates off of 4 levies: a 2 mil, 1.5 mil, 1 mil and a 0.9 mil. Each levy runs for 5 years and is then placed on the ballot for renewal. We have not asked for a replacement or new levy since 2014. Our call volume continues to increase and has doubled since 2017. As we are all experiencing, our costs continue to rise as well. We strive to be fiscally responsible and use our tax dollars efficiently. We value the support of our community.

If you have any questions, please contact Chief Miller at 937-766-5851. He would be happy to help answer your questions or address concerns. by @ctvfd11

Thank you to FF/PM K. Weeks, Capt. Neikirk and Asst. Chief Brown for planning another great hands-on extrication training for our firefighters! Special shout out to Dan’s Towing for providing several of the cars and to our very own retired Capt. Jeffers for donating one as well! by @ctvfd11

One of our recent Monday night trainings was Rescue Task Force (RTF) training. RTF is utilized during active shooter incidents and pairs police officers and medical personnel to enter “warm zones”—areas that aren’t 100% safe yet, but where the immediate threat is contained. Police form a protective shield so firefighters and paramedics can treat life-threatening injuries and stop severe bleeding immediately. Our crews got to practice rapidly triaging and extracting “patients” during various scenarios throughout the training.

A special thank you goes to Cedarville United Presbyterian Church for allowing us to conduct this important training in their building! by @ctvfd11

📣 More hydrant flushing will take place this week, starting on Tuesday! See the flyer for details. by @ctvfd11
