PART 2 Back to the brick and mortar- the location will be at 808 Justin lane, next to the @capmetroatx Crestview station, off Airport & lama. We will still have our trailers on site for cooking out of, so we will keep the Arbor food truck park vibe with the patio seating outside, plus indoor seating and the bar. Our menu will grow a little bit with new items and totally new daily specials as well as a small selection of Mexican beers, Mexican wines, frozen margaritas and some mixed drinks! We will give more details as we go into the build at the space! We can’t tha m you enough to everyone that has come by to try us, spread the word for us and bringing family and friends to eat with us. Gracias a Dios & Muchas gracias Austin! 🙏🏻🫶🏼 by @cuantostacos512
Can’t believe we are finally saying this but after years of a space the time has finally come, We just signed the lease on our first brick & mortar!! I’m Beto owner of Cuantos Tacos born and raised here in Austin, Texas, my family is from Matamoros & Oyama Tamaulipas. I Graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in 2011 and previously had a Mexican & Japanese food truck with a good friend of mine when we were 22. When I was coming up with Cuantos in 2018, I was visiting family in Mexico and then eventually made my way down to Mexico City for the first time, and tried a taco from the mecca of street tacos. Since then, my focus was to bring this simple but very technical and deliciously rewarding bite back home. From fall of 2018 until we opened, I was testing and tweaking the recipes and as well building the little camionsito(little yellow truck) all with the help of my long time friends Jose, Alan, Nate. Couple of months before opening, I started doing taste testing from the trailer at my parents house, and friends and family would come to try the tacos and receive real time feedback back kept tweaking. When we first opened, we were so grateful for the love and support that was received from Family, friends the restaurant industry and most importantly the customers who didn’t know us, but gave us a try and then returning with their family and friends to share the experience. This was the most rewarding feeling ever. We don’t have investors or any type of backing. It has all been us re-investing back into growth. In the last couple of years we have had the honor of receiving accolades, including the Michelin Bib Gourmand award, something we never thought we’d have the privilege to be apart of. All thanks to you! In creating Cuantos we’ve never tried to be the best, be a trend, or change what our brand is to fit in. The sole reason was to bring that feel of home in flavor, atmosphere and accessibility to all walks in life and receive the feedback of a special memory or a place that we were able to take yall back to. There is always plenty of room for more Taqueros & Taqueras with new concepts in the city to be open!!! We are just happy and proud to be a part of the growth. by @cuantostacos512
It crazy how fast time has flown and couldn’t be any more grateful for being able to share that this September 16th we will be turning 5 years old! Every year before we take our selves down memory lane to re visit were and how we started, for all the new folks following us my name is Luis”beto” I started Cuantos tacos in September of 2019 with a vision of trying my hardest to bring small 2 bite Mexico City style Tacos to central Texas, after visiting Mexico City for the first time I was on fire about this possibility and thankfully after several trials we were able to land a spot with our good Friend Mr. Eddie on airport & manor(no longer fast eddies) not knowing how fast the amount of support and love was going to be shown from customers and their families as well as the restaurant industry and helped us kick off our start how it did, so many great people we have met a long the way in every way we are eternally grateful. We will have some treats for yall this Saturday September 14th more details to come tomorrow. In the following days we will continue going down memory lane and sharing our story Buenas noches & y siempre muchas gracias 🙏🏻 by @cuantostacos512
