🔎A HORRIBLE TRAGEDY AT CUBE…🔎 Alex Handhold found DEAD at Cube, and it’s up to YOU to uncover what really happened👀 📆Friday October 30th ⏰ 19:00 - 22:00 💸 Regular entree by @cubebouldergym
Maybe you’ve noticed already… but his week is HOW TO FALL week at Cube! Which means give even more attention to your safety than we usually do :) Falling is part of bouldering, regardless if it is your first time, or you almost live at the bouldering gym. Our thick mats will catch your fall, but there are still things you can do to reduce the risk of injury. The safest way to fall: 1. Land with your feet on the mat. This gives you control and absorb the impact. 2. Bend the knees 3. Roll onto your butt and back Here we are moving to spread the forces of impact throughout the whole body, instead of letting all the force focus in one joint. 4. Keep your arms close to your chest. It is ‘normal’ for the body to catch itself with an outstretched arm, but this isn’t the safest! So, we have to practice the rolling technique to avoid this falling habit. 5. Tuck your chin toward your chest. This protect your head and neck form whiplash. The perfect fall technique is a tucked roll on the mat! by @cubebouldergym
