Before we designed fridge magnets, we collected hundreds of them. 🧲 20+ countries. 100+ cities. And a magnet from almost everywhere we’ve been. The beautiful ones, the clever ones, the unusual ones — and sometimes the wonderfully weird ones. We’ve always loved finding the little details that make a souvenir feel special. Long before CUBWAVE existed, we were already collecting, comparing, and noticing what made certain magnets impossible to leave behind. Years of collecting eventually became part of how we design today. We’ve seen a lot, loved a lot, and learned a lot — and now, we get to put all of that into creating souvenirs for Canada. 🇨🇦 Maybe that’s where our confidence comes from: we didn’t start with a business idea. Our first product sold out on launch day. That was when the real work began. From the outside, Cubwave’s first year may have looked like a smooth upward journey—new releases, growing numbers, more cities, and more stores carrying our work. But building a brand is never a straight line. Being seen also brought copies. Not understanding pricing management well enough brought criticism we had to face and learn from. Then logistics stalled, leaving us out of stock exactly when demand was highest. Behind every finished product were revisions, delays, difficult conversations, and decisions we often had to make before we felt ready. This year taught us that one successful product does not mean a brand has found its footing. Being loved by the market only proves that an idea has potential. What determines how far it can go is everything that follows: quality, pricing, retail relationships, supply chains—and how you respond when things go wrong. We never wanted to create only fridge magnets. We want to tell the stories of Canada—its cities, history, culture and landscapes—through objects people can hold onto and take home. Thank you to everyone who purchased, shared, commented, stocked our products, collaborated with us, or simply stopped to take a closer look. And thank you to those who listened when we were still very small, helped us find direction, and introduced us to opportunities we could not have reached alone. We haven’t named everyone here. Some kindness feels more meaningful remembered than turned into publicity—but every word, introduction and open door has stayed with us. Cubwave is one years old today. Still learning. Still growing.
