Meet CE Alumni John Jordan! Read Below to hear some information about him and his experience since Clemson!....What are you doing now?I am currently a Structural Project Engineer at ADC Engineering in Charleston, SC. We are a consulting design engineering firm that works on new designs, existing building renovations, retrofits, and building condition assessment reports. Our department specializes in structural engineering for buildings of all uses and a variety of different building materials. What do you like best about your current role?In my current role, I am involved with every stage of the construction process from the early conceptual design through construction administration and project close out. After obtaining my PE license, I have been given the responsibility to design, manage and draft my own projects with oversight from project managers. This has been a great experience and I really have enjoyed learning the design process at ADC. The communications and interactions with clients and other design team members while managing projects has become one of my favorite aspects of the job. What do you like best about your company? My peers and mentors within our structural engineering department have a wealth of knowledge based on more than 25 years of experience which has proven to be an invaluable asset to a young engineer such as myself. Additionally, I really enjoy the wide variety of new and existing types of structures and construction materials that we work with. Designing structures in Charleston is challenging due to high design wind speeds, high seismic design parameters, poor soils, flooding and the age of many historic structures. Learning from experienced individuals on how to navigate through these challenging conditions is truly amazing. What’s your favorite Clemson memory?I have so many found memories of my time at Clemson that choosing only one is very challenging. However, watching the Tigers win the 2019 College Football National Championship and celebrating in downtown Clemson with lifelong friends is one of my favorite memories.#clemsonuniversity #civilengineer #clemsonalumni by @cucivil
