WHAT AN INCREDIBLE WEEKEND‼️

CU Fly Fishing Almont 2026 is in the books and wow was it amazing. This weekend flew by before we knew it. Everyone caught lots of fish. Our second fly tying night is coming up! It will be held in the CASE building room E220.

‼️SIGN UP ON BUFFCONNECT IS LIVE MONDAY AT 5:00PM.

The tying night will be from 6-8PM, Wednesday the 30th! We are welcoming ALL LEVELS. If you missed the last tying night it's the perfect opportunity to make it up! If you don’t even know what a fly is, we still encourage you to come and learn the ropes of tying some cool bugs that work super well on our rivers out here! by @cuflyfishing

GOOD TIMES AHEAD!

Our first weekend trip of the year is COMING UP!!! On the first weekend of October (2nd-4th), we will be heading to Almont, Colorado near Gunnison to fish both the Taylor and Gunnison rivers.

These rivers are well known for fall Kokanee salmon runs. As the salmon begin to spawn and lay eggs, large brown trout feed on the eggs and prepare to spawn themselves. It’s a perfect window to get out there and get on some big, hungry fish!

‼️Sign-ups for the Almont Weekend Trip will be live on BuffConnect on: FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18th AT 5:00pm‼️

Spots are limited and go quick! Once signed up, you’ll receive more information on housing, carpooling, gear rentals, food, etc.

What’s up squad! Our second day trip of the semester is coming up this Saturday! We will be fishing the Big Thompson near Estes Park. Saturday is also game day, so we will be keeping this to a half day trip to give people time to get home and watch the game!

Our first trip of the semester was a success! We did a beautiful hike up to some of our favorite alpine lakes. Many laughs were had along the way. We managed to get on a bunch of brookies, and a few cutthroat to boot!

IT IS TIME!!!

Our first day trip is right around the corner this Saturday, August 29th.

We will be going to Crater Lakes in the James Peak Wilderness. This is an awesome set of Alpine Lakes filled with Brook and Cutthroat Trout.

‼️SIGN UP GOES LIVE ON BUFFCONNECT AT 7:00PM ON THURSDAY, AUG 27TH.

‼️This hike is about 4 miles round trip with over 1000ft elevation gain, please take this into consideration when signing up.

‼️Keep an eye on your email once signed up as we will send out a pre trip email with information regarding carpooling, meeting location, and what to bring on the trip!
