Ever since I was a little girl, you were always there not just for me, but for my siblings and my mother too. I’ll never forget your morning jingle, “Get up, get up, get up,” waking us with your cheerful spirit. I’ll always cherish our walks to the white store and Texaco, our playful banter, and even the bittersweet honor of being by your side in your final moments.
