It's still quiet over here, but despite everything, I've been enjoying spring this year and spend a little time each day walking through the nearby woods. Its been soothing to watch the trees come alive like this dogwood.

Some big changes are on the horizon, and I'm anxiously awaiting some news. Send all your good thoughts my way!

A fiery sunset over the Big Cypress National Preserve. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Another photo from a few weeks ago. It was a dull day with thick cloud cover; I didn't expect much for sunset. But the sky blew up and surprised me with this wonderful show. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

An explosion of blossoms erupts from Clerodendrum quadriloculare each spring, earning its name starburst or shooting star bush. Another beauty from @NaplesBotanical Garden last month.

Here's another peak at the Naples Botanical Garden; the last waterlily photograph was from this pond. It's one of my favorite public gardens and a fitting photograph to share for #NationalGardeningDay, which I guess is a thing 🙂. Being from PA, I always wonder what it'd be like to garden in Florida (it is on the list of places to settle). Visiting gardens like this one provides great inspiration. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

From dark waters, a purple jewel emerges.

When I saw this plant at the Marie Selby Botanical Garden, it instantly brought a smile to my face. Marsilea vestita looks like a four-leaf clover, but it's actually a type of aquatic fern. Wild, right? I hope it brings a little cheer to you today, as well. The dainty leaves seemed to tremble and dance in the wind, and the plants looked beautiful planted en masse as a low border edging.

Life sure has taken a turn since my last update. I hope that everyone has been staying home and staying safe. ❤️

I've wanted to post sooner but things seem to change daily, and I've just be wallowing in the news and feeling a little overwhelmed. For those that don't know, I've been traveling in an RV full time for nearly 3 years. State park and private campgrounds have been closing daily, including all that we planned on staying at for the next month. Unfortunately, my husband and I don't have a home base to go back to. While I understand the reasoning, it still has left us a little homeless (as well as many other #fulltimervers).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, we've been making new plans and trying to figure out where to go. We'll be hustling back to Pittsburgh soon (where our family lives) and we will probably stay there for the next 2 to 3 months. The upside: spring in Pennsylvania is gorgeous!

I believe it's Tillandsia paucifolia (potbelly airplant).

Happy Birthday, Florida. You're a wild, beautiful, and enchanting place, unlike anywhere else in the United States.
Since you became part of the U.S., 175 years ago, you sure look different. The rate of development in the past 100 years has been tremendous. Your wetlands have been drained. Majestic longleaf pine and cypress trees cut down. Your coast lands paved over and built up. It scares me to think what the next 50 years holds for you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A few donations to agencies fighting to keep Florida wild seems like a fitting present. @conserveflorida @fl_wildcorridor ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
